I love Dealing with Tradex they really are awesome. I've never bought a .22 from them, but this thread has me curious...

They sell .22 rifles, does that mean they sell .22 Ammo now as well? I've never noticed...

Ive had mine completely apart. Yes loosen the screw at the back, then you should be able to hand turn it off. Very easy to take apart these bolts. There is a roll pin you punch out to get the firing pin out. You might need to get the extractor claw out also, and then check the pin and the spring behind it. Could be all cruded up. Clean them, put just a little oil, and replace. Also check the main spring.

Here is a pic of the bolt apart, give it all a good clean and hopefully that's all it is. I did notice the springs in my M77 were lighter then the M70's, not sure if was by design for a lighter trigger pull...?

Had the diopter rigged M77 out today and it was touching holes with RWS Club ammo at 50m. Also had the last M70 I bought and it was grouping a bit bigger, around an inch. Not sure if its due to the trigger or the standard sights, have to play around with it some more.
Very pleased with the M77 at this point.

Yes Fmcmla...

Still waiting to get mine out n fire her,, so impatient to see how she cycles that i popped in an empty 22 shell,, just the primer left inside,, and let rip,, slight puff of smoke, almost no sound, and she extracted fine. Was a bit concerned as my bolt is a bit hard to close right down with the handle.

got it apart easy enough. was right fulla crud. seems the problem is a somewhat home made looking fireing pin tho. filed the stop slot a bit longer, cleaned everything and back together, and it does work now. gona need a new pin tho im sure

Re: Bolt re-assembly, do I turn slot head screw until bolt handle swings freely with minimal free play?

Yep... I tend to turn it in until the bolt handle doesn't move, the back off slowly to where it moves up and down, but no front to back play. I also like to grease the front and back of the bolt handle collar to keep it smoother.

Mine clean up nice! It's an M70 (serial #21944). My bolt does have slight front to back play. Firing pin puts a decent dent/strike on an empty casing that I've tested and extracts perfectly so will leave bolt in this configuration for now. Looking forward to shooting it. I really enjoy reading this thread. Very helpful and informative. Thanks guys!

couldn't resist bought the last mod M77 on the page. number 2 for me. I need a shim for the first one to tighten up headspace if anyone has figured something that is the same dia
