Tradex has a large selection of Schultz and Larson .22s again...

Question ............would there be enough metal to say re-thread say a PH #5C adjustable aperture? It would save having many for various light conditions and ..ie hunting.I suppose for hunting you could just use the rear with the peep removed? Would replace front with a thin post + ball bead.....I might need another now a little rougher to scope...Harold

Best bet is to find an adapter to use adjustable diopters, 6x.75 to 9.5x1, or make one if you have the tools. The PH are too small of a shaft iirc.

If you want a d&t barrelled receiver (just the barrel and receiver, you would need to use your own stock, bolt, etc) send me a pm. I have a shortened one collecting dust I'd unload cheap.

Hi all," long time listener, first time caller"
Used to be an "expert marksman" 40 some odd years ago when I was the force with a pellet gun. Now I'm the new, old guy on the block with piss ass eye sight and a new /rediscovered love for target shooting. Since I finally got off my butt and got my PAL, I've bought a Rugar 10-22, a Henry golden boy and a Shultz and Larson bolt action, all in 22. The Henry is a blast with iron sights and steel targets. The Rugar with a no name scope is endless fun! But!! Holy crap! The Shultz And Larson almost feels like cheating. The trigger is like nothing I've shot, (I know, not a lot) I put the sight on the target and hit where I was aiming! (Almost, every time!) I'm not claiming that I can put them in on top of each shot but holy crap, at 50 yards with the sight that came with it (di-opter?) I feel like a champ! The rifle itself is beautiful, . And heavy (the barrel is near as thick as a shotgun. the listing said it had a knick in the barrel and some wear. Spot on description. I think it's heavier than the wife's 303. But,
I may have found something that out shoots the wife, I know it can out shoot me!
All in all I can't be more pleased with the rifle. And as a side note as I watched the tracking from Canada post it showed it getting to the town next door then "returned to origin" called TEC to ask what happened (trade ex) and they were amazing! Got it on time, just the usual Canada post excitement.

Here is a question for those that have shot either of these! Which do you think is more accurate, the Shultz and Larson, the Cil 190, or the NS 522? I know the 522 doesn't have peep sights ( still trying to get a set for mine!) but as close as those that have shot them, what do you think?

I own three Anschutz & two Schultz & Larsen .22s The S&L are very close to the Anschutz 64 sporter series but both are out classed by a 54 series Anschutz.

I am not familiar with the Chinese NS 522.

I don't have any Annie's, but 8 S&L (4 each of the 70 and 77) and 2 of the NS522....yes I like .22's, won't mention how many other ones I have as well.
NS522 is a good gun for $200, my 2 shoot OK, won't hold 1/2 at 50m with match ammo, would need some work to achieve that like trigger/chamber/headspace/new stock. It will hold an inch though with match ammo. I actually hunt with them....not all that heavy and plenty accurate.
With the S&L it varies from rifle to rifle but more often then not they are consistent 3/4" 50m guns. I have one that loves RWS and will put them into 1/2" just about everytime I take it out. I also have one that is a 1"+ gun that I need to figure out WTF is up with it....

Finally, I had time to mill the QD sling swivel cups pockets in the stock.
All the stock work is done now.
Next week I will begin the oil finish.

All the parts, except the trigger group is reblued.

I lost a 2mm bearing ball for the sight during the reassembly of the sight.
I ordered a 100pcs pack so if anyone needs one or two, just drop me a PM.
I also have a 2X spare sling swivels and one wood screw for the buttstock sling swivel if anyone interested ( I know some of the S&L from tradeex have one missing ).

looks awsome! Did you make the bipod also?

Any idea when a new batch is coming in........

Last year, Anthony at Tradeex told us there is another batch was coming.
My guess is hurry up to choose one because this must be the last batch.
You can probably email Anthony and ask him if there's more coming.

Thanks !
On those pics, the stock was unfinished. If you look further, you can see the final result with Danish oil in another post.

The bipod is an MPOD designed by Jerry at Mystic Precision.
It is now manufactured by EGW.
I love this Bipod !

Yes I did see it finished. It looks like new.
How did you get the turn knobs look so good on the peep sight?
I just picked one up and looking at your refurbishing job it is inspiring to do some work to it.

First, clean it well with varsol or other stuff and a metal brush.
After its clean, use some polishing paste.

I was so impressed after I received it that I just placed an order for a second one!
I have started refurbishing my gun also. Stock has got about 12 coats of oil so far.

So far I've only fired cci standard velocity out of mine, with great results. Will shooting cheaper ammunition hurt this rifle in any way? Some of my research has yielded that high velocity rounds shouldn't be used in match barrels, does this apply to my M70?
