I put out this trail cam in Oct, but then I was not able to get out at all, after that.
Today I 'slogged' through the snow to get in and get the memory card from this camera. What a ####ing battle! I optimistically headed into the bush, thinking the snow would not be too bad. I was able to follow a snowmobile track about half way and that was really nice. But once I had to leave that trail, the snow it was brutal!
The snow had a crust, and I could walk along for a bit on top of it, but whenever I punched through, the snow was right to my knees. I was carrying a heavy pack, and holy ####, when I would go down into that snow, what a struggle it was to climb back up out of it! Then of course, I would just punch through again...
I was sweating like crazy by the time I finally made it. What a work out!
No deer sign in the bush, snow is still WAY TOO DEEP. A few moose and elk track. No wolf tracks (this is good).
There's a deer that showed up on the camera last fall that is really nice. He's got some junk, nice heavy beams, nice tine length. Hopefully this deer survived the winter and will show up on the camera again this year.
Got more pics of a buck I call Dagger, I've been seeing going on 4 years now. I don't know if he made it through hunting season. I sure hope he did.

Dagger. Been getting this guys pics going on 4 years now.
