Trail cam pics...

I just got my new (replaced under Warranty) Bushnell Camera, had it set up last year, no pics, batteries, not lasting the night!

I now have it set up in my house to test it for a week or two (I hope I don't see any strange dudes in any of the pics)

The local hunting shop near me used to sell the bushnell ones but stopped after getting so many people bringing them back not working, and now sells the Moultrie ones. I will cross my fingers on your replacement one Bill C68. I just picked up my feeder tonight, so next on the list is the camera. LOL Only wish I had some nice big deer in my area to take pics of.

Thats sparring pic is great even though it is not clear. You must have a lot of bucks in the area.

P.S The HABS just TIED the game with seconds left on the clock in the third period

GO Habs Go!!!!!

i can't point the camera to the north in that spot, wouldn't get the pictures i want there. the camera was pointed to the west because there are 5 trails intersecting @ that spot and the bigger bucks all come out of the thick brush and go right back in. when i did point the camera to the north all i would get are some smaller bucks and a whack of does. so to get the pictures i want i have to point to the west and put up with the sun every now and then. things i didn't think about when i first started with trail cams and people should know is when the leaves are on the trees and you place your camera where there will bee a lot of shade and the camera is in that shade and you're trying to get a picture out in the open in sunlight, the camera will flash and over expose the picture. hope this helps somebody... i've noticed this with both my moultries

Anyone using those solar panels with a rechargeable battery ?????

i use a solar panel with my older gamespy with a the big square 6v battery and i get 2-3 months before recharge early in the year and the recharge time gets shorter as it gets colder. in december i think i would get about 3 weeks before the battery power got down to 20%. in my newer one that doesn't have all the features of the older i just use regular c or d cells, can't remember off hand. i get about 30 days out of that one and a little shorter as it gets colder. i'll be getting a solar panel for that one this year.

here's a couple more pics.

i have a ton more in our older laptop but having problems with it. a bunch of big buck pics i wish i could share with everyone.

i was just saying that the newer one doesn't have the moonphase or temperature reading on the pictures. don't know if it makes any difference in battery life or not? and i will be buying a newer model later this year, one of the infrared digital models. i think you can take video in the dark with them. my other two will take video during daylight and revert back to still images @ night.

Moulitrie gamespy I-40?

also is that you in the stand? im deffinitly gonna try and take a photo liek that this fall:)

that one was from my gamespy 300 which is an older model 3.1mp camera, picked it up 2 years ago. the other i have is the cheap d-40( i think ). the one i would like to pick up this year is the I-60.

p.s; no one in the stand, it's an orange desk chair. i rarely sit in that stand. don't know why the two biggest bucks we harvested come from that stand about three years ago two days apart.

Here's 2 off of one of ours, a bushnell.

My wife set it up, in my absence. I've been trying to convince her that it will work better if she points it at a path, or an area with lots of tracks, instead of just at random trees. But now that there's a little buck on film, I don't think I'm going to have much luck!

And here's a couple off of a Moultrie

My 1st Bushnell I bought for $400 4 years ago(digital) All that POS does is fill up with water in the battery compartment...have to check it every time it rains. I don't think that I have gotten 1 good pic from it yet. My second Bushnell (got as a gift this spring) opens to the side, at least it doesn't fill up with water. But sometime it works sometimes it doesn't. Checked it yesterday...walking straight at it...no red LED at all so I think the batt's totally dead...open it up and look at the display and its NOW snapping a pic. Both of these things are GARBAGE!
