Yeah, we're pretty sure that they're mosquitoes.
The area these pics were taken in is a pretty thick cedar swamp, so it's pretty buggy. Ticks prefer dryer, open grassy areas, and while there are plenty of fields in the area, I'm guessing skeeters. If you look around the does head, there are a couple of gray "specks" in the picture that look like they might be more mosquiotes, flying around.
Cheers.

I had to move my camera and corn feeder due to having a bear around like you do. In my area if a bear is around, the deer find another place to hang out in. I have now moved my feeder and cam to the other side of my buddies property hoping the bear will not find it. In one week in the new spot, only one small doe, and some turkeys, and of course cows.

The bear has a Raccoon friend if you look closely

Here he got a bit to close to the camera, I now put the cam 7 ft. higher.

Its a 30gal. drum with a Moultrie "Pro Hunter" feeder motor. Inside on the bottom is a funnel so all the food is funneled right into the hole. Without that you get food around the outside of the hole, and from what I am told it will rot. The three legs are metal pipes I got from a buddy of mine. I bought some those giant plastic orange tent pegs(about 14in long) and hammered them into the ground and pushed the bottom of the pipe legs into them.

I installed a critter cage this week end around the motor and spinner plate since my friendly bear bent the crap out of the spinner when he realised he could empty my drum by spinning the spinner plate. Its not shown on this pic.

Couple pics to share. I use a stealthcam DIGRC-XTR ($40 on ebay) and a Moultrie D40 ($69 @ BPS). Wired both to run off 12V, haven't had to recharge or buy batteries all summer. Bought a couple extra memory cards and just swap them out when I check to cams.
