Transfer approved in less than a day? Say what?

I started a transfer on the 4th and still waiting, it's going to AB and I've always heard that they were fast

I bought two pistols from a dealer in Edmonton and when I told the CFO I was leaving town that afternoon, they had it done before I finished my lunch. I find the transfers typically very quick, but as others have said its the registration papers that seem to take weeks.

Generally less than 24 hours for transfers I've done in AB, had a couple done same day (call in morning, get email 5 hours later from CFO).

I did. Called Moncton, waited on hold, and had it in my email within 15minutes - and my little lady had her revolver under the Christmas tree.... Well, in the Christmas safe. Very very nice lady on the other end. I hope I get to speak with her again.

I have had mine in Sask in less than a day for the most part, just waited 3 weeks on one for a gun I sold to a guy in Ontario. Glad I live here

Called the Ontario CFO today for a status on a week old private transfer. (Both of Seller and Buyer in Ontario)
Was told to expect a 3-4wk wait due to them being back logged!….They seem to always be back logged.

I sold a 92 to a guy in BC, it only took 24 hours to get txfer. I am in Ottawa.

Update Got the notice in todays mail 11 Jan its was sent on the 5th

Wow I'm doing an ontario to Alberta private transfer as well and requested email instead of snail mail and it was 4 Days 2 of which were Saturday and Sunday. I'd give them a call

biggest issue is waiting for snail mail, get them to email the transfer notification, might shave a week of the wait time off?..., if thats been done, my apologies, id hate to have to wait weeks just to get a transfer..ugh

In Ontario, mine initiated before Christmas. called twice including today, said huge backlog. was asking for email transfer. ridiculous.
