Transfer of hunting rifle gone bad!!

This happened to me also, from a very well know guy here on CGN. I was on my final notice from the cfc when he finally transfered it. If its the same guy I think he will transfer it when he gets your pm, from the number of deals he does he probably forgets a few now and again.

I know I do, in fact every once in awhile I like to get an inventory printed off at the firearms office, so I can look and see what is in my name and what is not.

Misunderstanding ... whatever : WHY did it take six months ???

Between the two of you, seller & buyer, were the Transfer Notifications received? And as the new Cert didn't come through in a timely fashion ... Who wasn't following-up ???

A lot of people panic a little too easily because they're worried about getting into trouble with the CFC. I'm not saying that can't happen but all my dealings with them thus far have been positive.

I ran into the same thing when I sold a rifle here.I started the transfer and PMd the reference number.I got the transfer # from the CFC, and the M/O about the same time, and sent the rifle on it's merry way.
I got confirmation of delivery from the buyer , and all was good, until a year or so later when the CFC phones me on a Sunday to tell me that the transfer had never been completed.I got in touch with the buyer and he assured me that he had a registration slip in his possession, but would call the CFC(Cluster F**k Central)and complete it for me.About a week later a got yet another notice that the transfer had been competed.(I hope this one takes!!)

I trwded and sold about 5 Ruger single shots within a week, a wwhile back(last year).
I got letter a month ago saying that I neeeded to complete the transferof one!!
My fault, got mixed up , wwhat wwith my computer crsashing, and some stuff at work and family isssues.

The bottom line is , the seller had my PAL, the transfer had started, I had not got my end done to copmplete it is all.
I don't think it's a "show stopper" as far as deals go, just a glitch.
The seller knows where the rifle went, the buyer knows he paid for it.

I missed one transfer a while back as well, I was buying Mosins every week. I got contacted by the seller of one several months later saying I didn't finish the transfer.
Bottom line is the system is a joke, trying to make everyone paper criminals.
