Transfer times in BC

You should proactively provide a copy of your range membership to the CFO. Otherwise, when they get to your transfers, they won't see range membership on file and then send you a letter through the snail mail asking for you to provide a copy, also via snail mail, ultimately delaying approval of your transfers for another month.

Thankfully, there is this new invention that has been that is transforming the world called the internet. Email a cellphone photo of your membership card to cfpcfounit@rcmp-grc.gc.ca along with your full name and PAL info. Good luck.

Not sure this will work in Alberta but what the heck I’m going to try it here too. I’m sure it can’t hurt. I emailed in referencing all my pending transfer numbers, my club membership and my RPAL. Hoping something makes a difference.

It took around 3 weeks from BC CFO to approve my transfers, another 2 weeks to get my registration certificates, ordered from 3 different sources. First order was June 7.

that email is for yukon and bc residents ... other than that that is the way to do it just in case ...

Not sure how it works.

May 31st purchase: Still nothing. Called and spoke with CFP on June 30th. Was told nothing is wrong /missing with the application. Just backlogged. Agent told me application was filed by vendor 1 day after the purchase. - BC VENDOR

June 7th purchase: T/N email received on June 16th. RGN cert received on June 30th -BC VENDOR

I have a purchase from the 6th and nothing yet.

Which month? If it was June, I feel bad for you. I ordered 4 restricted after you and have them all plus registration certificates in my hands - the certificates all came together this Monday in one envelope. The emails with approvals all came in almost exactly 3 weeks for each.

I know that Tenda processed very late.

This was almost my exact situation. Keep calling the direct CFO line until you reach someone who can approve over the phone. Lady I spoke with was very nice and was able to process my May 31st purchases for me and email me transfer papers. Just took three days of calling and holding for around 45min.

Yeah, June. I wouldn't bother to post July as I expect a delay.

Got my seller notification for one today after calling in the direct line. That was initiated on June 30. They wouldn’t approve my purchase from last week though out of fairness to the order they’ve been received. Fair enough. They said they’re working through June purchases but said they’re 2-3 weeks behind. Not awful. I’ll start getting worried about trying to buy anything in late august.

selling anything to Ontario folks though… that’s a risk with their backlog.

i finally got approved my may 31st purchase. i followed up on the 9530 extension because originallythey said 7 to 10 days. guess i lost patience and replayed the phone game.she said somehow my transfer got burried...
Hopefully it ships soon.

Thanks, read that and pretty much all the CFO wait times threads but it contains a lot of irrelevant to me information. People jumping the que with phone calls helping the CFO complete their backlog etc.

So while they are on the phone dealing with impatient people they are not attending to the list they already have to work on. The 3 people they have on staff (just guessing) only go so far and I think we may be part of the problem with straining the fragile understaffed and maybe reluctant to give the general public (responsible firearms owners) more guns dept.

With much respect lets be specific then to my question from others in the same situation.

From a business in any province to a BC resident who already owns restricted and has submitted all the required paperwork and not individual or other types of transfers.
