Transfer times in BC

6 wks for 1 private and 2 retail…nothing yet. Tried calling numerous times and can’t even get into hold sequence. System is definitely broke. Just another example of a failed Fed gov. Too busy chasing after farmers and the next enviro election flavour to fix all the broken parts.

Also got through this morning after trying for a week. The lady I talked to sounded exhausted.

My July purchase (597###x) was approved but have to wait a bit longer for the August purchase since "it is too soon". I was told they are still working on the transfers from June.

She could not confirm that they would be able to catch up with all the backlog by the end of Aug as one of the member has been told last week. But did say they are trying VERY hard right now.

597? Im 5975### july 22 alberta

I was informed it has been taking 6-8 weeks at the moment but to call after 3 weeks. This is coming from Someone i just purchased from

Ive really been wondering what's going to happen with all the transfers that are left after the bill goes through. Stores you can almost be assured a refund but the person to person sales is not really guaranteed maybe why they are prioritizing the person to person sales over the stores. it could mean a lot of people get ripped off no?

Yesterday, August 16th, the gal at the firearms center stated that my transfer will take a "minimum" of 3 to 4 weeks. I have my reference number and if I don't hear back by the end of August, I'll be phoning many times for a status update.;););)

I had agreed to buy 3 pistols from a coworker's husband before the shmozzle, but he dragged his feet about getting the transfer started until after June 1st. He still hasn't gotten through to the CFC, but he did print out and we filled out the paper copy of the transfer that the CCFR had posted. He sent it Registered Mail and it was signed for at the CFC June 8th. So my two questions are:
1) Has anyone had approval from the paper forms yet? Ever?
2) He tells me he is still trying to call, but hasn't got through yet. Will there be any confusion/issue if he gets through THEN they decide to process the paper copy?

STILL nothing showing on the online site for "restricted transfers"
I still haven't heard from anyone who has had luck with the paper copy mailed in. I'd like to hope even if the gooberment finalizes this bill in the fall that anything "in the works" will still be processed

As most people have been saying, it really depends. I have transfers as early as late June that haven't went through yet.

Oddly enough, I had an SR22 transfer within 4 days in mid-July but that's the only one that has went through since the ban was announced.

Got through on call #10 this morning to 9530. Then 15 mins on hold.

Got my june 24 and july 2 transfers done. (595###) Would not do my Aug one.

I called this morning. Had a transfer that was initated on 6 Aug approved today as well as one that was initated on 17 Aug. I had only asked for the Ref# on the second one and instead he just went ahead and approved it. So 3 business days, Not bad at all.

I believe for a while there anyway they were only answering the phones up until 2pm and then spending the last couple hours of the day working on transfers. Not sure if that’s still the case. But I have had my best luck calling right at 9am when they open.

I need an ATT to go and get my restricted from a gunsmith and I can't get through. What am I supposed to do? He's had it for a weeks because every single time I call, I cannot get through.
