Transfer times

Private transfers are a month behind, business transfers take priority and are done first. Sorry, I wasn't clear in my initial post. Still waiting after a month for a private transfer.

Yes you will be close to 4 weeks, I bought private and transfer was started December 5th and was completed January 3rd.
 
Bought on boxing day still waiting. Gave me a bit of a run around... had to send them my range membership then they called to say they where going to process a ltatt, got the ltatt email that same day .. next day call to see what's holding up the transfer “well sir you need a ltatt" ... "I have it right here with my range membership I will Fax them to you"... "OK sir have a nice day"... **palm hits forehead**Slap**

Well I talked to the CFO yesterday and they are working on transfers from dec 6 so I'm afraid that you are gonna wait at least 5-6 weeks. Mine was started dec 11 and still nothing..they told me 5-10 business days and that was on dec 11 hahahaha
 
I guess when they get 1000's of transfers in a short period of time and the holidays delay things, this happens. Firearms have been flying off the shelves and transactions have been going through the roof, just like in the US.

No the problem is that there is only 1 person doing the private transfers for all of ontario, 13.5 million people live in ontario and they have one person doing the transfers! There were suppose to be 3 more people returning on jan 3 but odd enough all 3 are sick and haven't returned to work yet, that's what the CFO told me the last few times I've talked to them. It's a joke, the whole system is a joke so anyone in ontario that wants to have things changed then write your mp. When I talk to my MP, he forwards our correspondance to the minister of public safety Vic Teows who has acted on our behalf regarding the CFOs and the back door registry. The conservatives right now have a panel for making changes to the firearms act. If you have a problem with the status quo, now would be the time to speak up.
 
in bc this fall i had an AR on a private deal take 2 months!, then a revolver,just aproved after 1 month!, just did a purchace off the EE and when i called it in was told 2 to 3 weeks....so things are sppeeding up here! lol!
i spoke with a nameless employee at the BC cfo last fall and was told when they closed the LGR their staff went from 14 to 2, they had 2 managers but it was fri, so they had gone home early..leaving the staff to answer phones not process transfers!..just what i heard, but having worked in the public sector before, i can beleive it!

Yeah, I heard the same thing. Called them on Monday, and they said about 3 weeks.
 
In Alberta I had a private transfer go through same day, and from a Dealer took 2 days, but in fairness one of those days was Dec 31, and I knew they were working a short day that day. Called in on day 2 to check status, it was approved, they transfered me to the Alberta CFO where I spent 15 min on hold to get a STATT, which was emailed out 5 min later.

Last two restricted handguns I bought from Wolverine and the Wood Joynt, walked out the door with both pistols after a 20 minute wait.
Updated ATT with the new registration certificate numbers came 3 days later.
Manitoba CFO Office is fine with me, but I have not tried any private purchases lately.

They had more than 2 employees when I visited them 2 weeks ago...
At least 4 employees at the bc CFO office.
 
Was called this morning by the cfo looking for my range membership info for 2013. I scanned and emailed it to them. An hour later i called to check on the transfer and it was approved. That was less than 4 hours.

But again I'm out in manitoba and they are really fast out here.

2 weeks and 2 days I think its been transferred... at least I hope so I got a tracking notification this morning from the store...
