Transfer times

In Sask, I always call the CFO once I have a reference number, usually takes me 2min after that and ATT's are emailed to me, reference number all depends on the dealer, but if they call it in right away or do it online I have it in 10-15 min.

Private transfer is about 5min on the phone with the CFO both parties giving their info.

Im in Ontario ans I just hit 4 weeks last Thurs, its Monday now and no mail yet. I got the same response from the cfc wtf. I have never waited longer then a week and a half before.

Cheers,
Evan

Called the CFO Ontario today, directly. Spoke to the girl VERY politely. 4 weeks I'm waiting already and she told me , that she doesn't know when it's will be ready. I'M OFFICIALLY PISSED...

I've been pretty lucky from what others tell me. I live in bc and hear a lot of crap about the CFO...
I think it has to do more with her underlings not working than the CFO herself.

I hope this helps the guys who are waiting;
Email nicely to RCMP CFO unit. State your pal, reference number and club affiliation.
Send it in then call. Tell them you wish for the Att to be sent to your email.
Give another call the next day to see any changes.

I've done this for 6 guns and my Att has come within three days or less. Sometimes
Even the next day. I think the most important part is, is be polite. Not saying anybody here is
Being a jerk or whatever. Being nice goes a long ways.

No it no but I just got it, so that was a total of five week exact. That was for a Ontario from Quebec, im doing another two from Ontario to Ontatio in the next week well see what happens with those.

Cheers,
Evan

Is this our transfer????
Has it been that long already???

I have the same two local transfers . The Ontario CFO is a big PIA , doesn't matter how polite you will be. They declare , that at least 5 weeks it's a normal waiting time . If we will not complain , that waiting time will increase in the future. I wrote already to my MP , and will write again , if necessary.

ONTARIO TRANSFER WAIT TIMES GGRRRRRR Bought a handgun from a guy in Quebec. 2 weeks later request for transfer is still on Ontario CFOs desk waiting for approval. When I called today asking if they have any idea of how much longer - all they say is the applications are really backed up in Ontario .... so what they are saying is ...... by the time the paperwork for the transfer is complete I will own an antique ... sigh I could understand it taking longer if its the first handgun someone has owned ... but should it not just be a rubber stamp once they have put you through the process once??

I bought a 1860 Pietta Army almost 5 weeks ago that was on consignment at a gun store here in Ontario ... I'm still waiting for the ST-ATT to get it home.

Just 2 weeks prior to that I bought a 1873 Uberti. Same store, consignment as well. I had the ST-ATT in 5 days.

I wonder what changed in those 2 weeks between purchases?

So heres the update on my three latest transfers lol. Once they hit four and a half weeks again I decided to call the Ontario Ombudsmen on the advice of a fellow CGN member and good friend. Well it was sure worth the time, I called them and and in about fifteen mins they took my info and started a file. I then recieved a call about a half hour later saying that they spoke to the CFO and my transfers would be completed the following day. So I called the CFO the next day to verify that the transfers had been done and they had not. I then received three email from the CFO the next morning with all three transfers appoved.

Cheers,
Evan
