Trap Gun Dilemma

Well it wasn't an easy decision but after reading everyone's responses and thinking it through I got hold of the dealer, made certain if I cancelled the order he would not be stuck with the gun and after he said cancelling would not be an issue I cancelled the order. He has started the ball rolling on importing me a new Joel Etchen Beretta exclusive trap combo. I have already selected the inventory # I wanted from Etchens website. And so it begins again..... Laugh2 Thanks everyone for your input, much appreciated. I appreciate all the advice I got through pm's as well but in the end had to run with what I can pay for on a blue collar wage so I ended up ordering a 687 Silver Pigeon III EELL Trap Combo,34"unsingle, adj. rib, 30" o/u barrels, adj comb with Negrini case.

This is the one I have ordered.

He is on holidays. We texted briefly this morning. He told me to select the gun # I wanted and he would get it ordered. I didn't want to disturb him too much on his vacation. I'll let you know as soon as I hear from him. Yes Etchen carries some nice guns and he imports from them all the time.

I'm going to be at The Gun dealer in NB next weekend and if I don't find anything I can't live without I could see myself duplicating your purchase. I've been really enjoying trap shooting lately !

Not sure who you delt with Joe or Matt but they will likely want you to import thro PR. This is all fine of course but to save yourself some money send a email to clay and ask if there will be extra tax involed on it being made in Italy.

The loop hole being if there is indeed one is that the gun was made for Etchen. I had a shock with a unforeseen tax.

Good to know. I'll look into it and it is Clay I am dealing with. Thanks

Prophet river is fantastic for importing, great job selecting the Joel etched combo, you won't regret it. And my mistake I meant dealer and not retailer that was screwing you around. I've had nothing but fantastic service from prophet river they truly go above and beyond.

Good choice Spank, the gun is beautiful. Sounds like you'll have way less issues as well. My first shotgun was a Beretta, still have fond memories of shooting skeet with it as a youngster. Good luck with the new one!

Much appreciated Clay. As you know from many a conversation I am in no way disappointed in your service or committment to getting me that trap gun and I appreciate you doing all you can to change my order. Thanks kindly. :)

Clay has always gone above and beyond to provide the best customer service, and it hasn't changed from the days when he was working out of his garage by himself, to now when he has a nice big shop with a dozen or so employees.
