Trenton 2 Day M14 Clinic 15/16 March 2014

JNA, we should have you fixed up for then.

Update on ability to re-index: I'm expecting my Mac's Trail D-vise to show up in a week or two so that we can re-index and or re-barrel right on the spot.

Some of you M14 lovers MIGHT (big might) have an M1 Garand project sitting on the shelf ready to install yer barrel. BRING it to my clinic and we can do this install right on the spot. And if your new barrel (Criterion? Krieger) is NOT chrome-lined, I can perform the finish reaming for you. We can make this happen for you. Another benefit of coming to my clinic, in Trenton! :D

Cheers,
Barney

Are there specific details on the location?
I know farmboy mentioned "About 10 minutes north of Trenton just off 33, on Fish and Game club road. ",

Is there a specific address (one that I can either plug into Google maps, or my GPS)?

What is the day like ? how long a lunch break? places to eat around the area etc? Or is the Original Post going to be updated and info is still being determined?

Thanks!

J.

It's all very informal. Let's get that established, since it is the weekend.

* Gather at 0830
* Casual Start at 0900
* Lunch around 1200
* Start re-convening at 1300
* Tweaking all afternoon
* Break off around 1600 (all this is described in my www.tacticalteacher.ca site)
* Same routine for the next day's range session, but I reserve the right to keep the range schedule flexible.
* Too many variables can come into play on range day (weather, squadding, range allocation, visitors, other uncontrollable parameters)

There, does that help?

Barney

Great! Thanks for the info Barney.

Informal works great with me. Only one last item when available please, an address to the range, or directions to the range(say from the 401?)

Thanks! Looking forward to learning lots, and meeting fellow gunnutz :)

I am waiting for BBB or badboybeeson to wade in here with the address / directions etc, etc.

We are gonna have fun. Ensure you guys bring at least 5 magazines (5/20's) or you can borrow a few/ share a few. Oh yeah, all them magazines are for the Sunday shooting session. :D

Cheers,
Barney

how much ammunition should we bring for the second day? i note on your site you say 100rds but it sounds like we will be using quite a bit more than that. also should we bring a molle vest and attachments if we have one to hold the mags?

Yes, bring more than what I mentioned because we could get going purty fast on the relays. Yes, if you have a vest / Molle rig/ Chest rig for the M14 magazines, by all means bring it. Depending on how the range parameters work we could be changing the dance program and accelerating the learning. I have not seen the range nor have I ever shot or run a practice there. We are going in cold and we will just have fun! :D That's why I'm your Tactical Teacher! ha ha ha ha

Bring on the questions!

Barney

Just wondering if there are any updates as to the range address? Or any other pertinent info?

Looking forward to next weekend!

I'm in comms with BBB! :dancingbanana:

Well, first things first, the good news!

We are a go for the Saturday ONE day sessions.
This is the address for the club;

1808 Fish & Game Club Rd. Frankford, ON
Take Glen Miller Drive off the 401 and head 9 minutes NORTH!

The Bad news; or not so good news!

The Sunday shooting session has to be cancelled because of the icing up of the mel####er. So the range floor is fzcked. I am used to cancellations and it's part of the game.

More good news:

Cash refunds for the Sunday session that was cancelled will be sorted out when I see you on Saturday morning.

Stay tuned right here for any updates as I receive them from BBB.

Cheers,
Barney

More good news... I have a big vise to re-barrel any M1 or M1A or M14 rifles you may have. Anybody got an install project for me / us to do? Bring along any spare barrels/receivers you may have and we will get 'er done! :cool:

These clinics are always enhanced when you see that real thing happening before your eyes. :D I might just have a Norinco shorty to rebarrel. We will let you know by Friday night. I'll be bunking out in Trenton for Friday evening.

Cheers,
Barney

Well then fellas, motel cancellations for Saturday night would be the thing to do I suppose. Just a suggestion.
At the place I booked, before the 72 hours prior elapses, so I don't get charged for it. ;-) Yours may be different.
Cheers.

Mine WAS different. Booked online. Therefore, I had to cancel 7 days prior. Ugggh...

I'm going to have a great looking, potentially well functioning rifle...that's never been fired. I really just wanted to zero it with my Aimpoint PRO.

would you recommend we bring any other tools that are not posted on your site such as a dremel to remove material from the stock for bedding? also for fired brass is steel cased fine?
