trespassers on my property during hunting season!

After talking to the RCMP, if you don't have signs posted, their is such thing as implied consent. I was informed that this goes for hunting as well. Which means if you have no sign posted, their is implied consent for tresspassing.

Good luck!

Not in the part of the country I live in. I don't post any signs on my land. But I can assure you this, if someone is caught on my land hunting or just passing through without permission from myself, they will be charged.

No threatening language at front or you can get charged even if someone get hurt accidentally. That's like leaving your statement and intention up front.Just few red spots aroud trees and at the gate and few surprise vists in hunting season do the job

If it is a fairly wooded area I would say block off the trails with some cut down trees and large rocks as well as some NO TRESSPASSING signs as mentioned by other members here would be your best option. It's far to easy to get get a pair of wire cutters and cut through a fence. I 'm sure there must be a farmer or someone around the area with some machinery who could help you out.

As for catching them on your property there is little you can do unless you're there or have some checking in on the property (I'm always looking for property to hunt coyote on in and near the niagara region ;) .)

I've seen it all:

fences (page and barb) cut
gates pulled off the hinges
gates driven over/through
gates stolen
locks cut
fence posts cut with chainsaw-fence laid flat
etc. etc. etc.

If you are not there to check your property/fences everyday...someone WILL hunt your property, guaranteed.

When I'm hunting...other (non-hunting) friends will try to patrol the usual entry points looking for trespassers.

It is an endless battle...get used to it now. :bangHead:

Best solution...find someone that can be there ALOT. Offer him a place to bowhunt, or help him out somehow (firewood maybe?)

put some red flags on that fence wire...noone deserves to get decapitated from tresspassing....

They would be decapitated as a result of their dangerous or careless operation of an Off Highway Vehicle.

In my experience, most quadders etc. who trespass are lazy slobs, and likely won't cut a fence to ride on your property anyway. Someone who is determined to trespass in order to hunt may be another story.

post sings for bear baiting in progress and bear traps set danger do not enter have seen it done and it helped big time. was just outside of ottawa

I would use razor wire about neck height, than follow the news. Eventually you'll find out who it was. If they live that's ok to because now you know there name!!

Save your money on the fence the idiot will use snips and cut it. Put up a hidden camera on that trail and then show it to the authorities when you have the shot of the idiot trespassing

not much good if the guy is wearing a helmet on a dirt bike or atv. or wearing full turkey hunting gear with face cover.

Wow with the amount of people interested in the hunting area I could assign each of you a day of the week to go up and hunt/check on the place. We go also do a group trespasser hunt and see what we find!

put some red flags on that fence wire...noone deserves to get decapitated from tresspassing....

Sure they do.

And those red dots? They're most effective when the trespasser sees one moving around on his fuel tank.

Trespassers are the scum of the earth, and deserve 'the very best'...Snares. Pits with punji sticks. Claymores. Cobras suspended from tree limbs. The trick is to make sure that once they enter your property, that they never, ever, ever, leave.......

Wanna know where my 14 quarters are so you can trespass on them and damage my crops, leave garbage all over, leave my gates open and shoot my livestock?

Guess. :cool::cool::cool:
