TRESPASSING Turkey Hunters

I made him walk all the way back to my house and get a shovel and then stood there while he dug an unnecessarily large hole and buried his own s**t.

Should have had him pick it up, put it in his pocket and take it with him.

If POSSIBLE, try and get trespassing charges laid under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act. The penalties for trespassing to hunt or fish are a lot more severe, than straight trespassing under the Trespass to Property Act.

And written permission is not needed to hunt on private land.

I know you all are talking about private land, but I've run into similar problems on public land. If I'm driving out to some spot I like and see somebody else already parked there, I just keep on going or turn around. I've been parked in a dead end logging road before, and gone out to glass and do my thing only to have some jerk come up the road in a dang diesel and sit there idling for 10 min before turning around. If ya figure another hunter is in the area, be polite and keep going or go the other way.

My neighbor and I caught a guy taking a crap on my property last year... he was parked beside a 30 inch No Trespassing sign. He had walked down onto my food plot and did his business in plain view of a 15 foot high Wack Shack.
I am sorry to say I came a little unglued on this poor kid... I blocked his car in and threatened to let my mastiff out to chew on him for a while.
I made him walk all the way back to my house and get a shovel and then stood there while he dug an unnecessarily large hole and buried his own s**t. The poor bastard was apologizing profusely and explaining that he had just moved out here from the city. He had been out drinking the night before, had broken up with his girlfriend and was severely hung over. He had been driving home and felt sick so he pulled into the driveway for an emergency s**t!
I felt a little sorry for him at this point so I took the time to explain how seriously rural people take their deer hunting and that taking a crap in front of a tree stand was paramount to rape in these parts!:slap: I asked him where he lived and what his name was and told him I was gonna stop by and talk to his parents. Poor kid looked even sicker when I told him that...

I am reminded of the time that I had a bought of stomach flu, and was desperatley tryingt o make it home before my @$$ exploded.

I didn't make it, and had to pull to the side of the road, on apublic pull out, intending to run into the woods....I desperatley groped for the roll of TP that is always in the glove box, which was my undoing...

I barely made it out the door of the truck, before I was forced to drop my pants and let loose, from both ends....:puke:

I am not ashamed to say that I didn't dig any hole, just slithered, choking, back tot he truck, and made one more attempt to get home.:D

Well went out to meet the other fella with permission to hunt the property this morning at 8:30. He was already there when I arrived. He came towards my truck and said you ain't gonna like this! The continued to tell me that the bastard that destroyed my blind to make his had now constructed another one on the same feild and was inside it this morning with turkey decoys out in full camo. My guy boots him off the property and tells him the landowner is gonna have his ass. He was unsure if this tresspasser had a gun or bow with him so not charges laid today. I proceeded to disassemble all his blinds and cut down the roofs he had strapped up with rope. We have that property VERY well signed now with both signs (x25) and 5" red dots EVERYWHERE along the property lines. Chances are that this ####### has been poaching on the property for the last couple weeks with a bow so his acts are silent. I'm thinkin at this point of calling the MNR and have a game warden attend his house for freezer inspection.

Your best bet is likely to act on it now, instead of waiting. And getting a CO to deal with it would be better then the police.

Yep. A little legal harrassment on the home front sinks the message home.

Okay, the MNR now has my report and will forward it to a C.O. The landowner doesn't want a war but this guy isn't just tresspassing, he's at minimum harrasing wildlife before the season opens in full hunting garb and with decoys. A huge issue for us that are legally planning to hunt come opening morning on that property. The birds will be well educated and presured even before the season opens.

Trespsaaing whether it be turkey huynting or any type of hunting is not only in bad taste it is illegal. I wonder how many hunters or hikers who trespass are just following an example of a roll model they looked up to. Respecting other peoples property should be instilled in people long before they reach the age they are able to hunt on their own.

we need less people like Mr Asshat out there.glad to see someone doing something about it.one of these days or years i want to buy you a beer

That guy is probably back there this morning, we have a poacher in our area and he is relentless. All the property owners here are aware of him and so is the MNR... he still cruises the roads with a loaded firearm on the seat and likely will until he gets caught red-handed.
It is like a disease with some people... they can't stop stealing or poaching.

Most recent update!!!!!!!!!!!

The land owner took a personal little visit to the tresspasser's home down the road for a little talk. Although his car was in the drive and the TV could be heard, the wimp wouldn't answer the door for 20 minutes. So a letter was left tapped to his door advising him that if he or any other was found on the property, that tresspassing charges would be laid without question and if any game laws are violated the MNR will also be involved. Needless to say, the landowner here is not happy with this wimp and has asked for myself and the other fella with hunting rights to watch closely for any violators.

I definately have to say that is is hard to find spots to hunt. This is my first year Turkey hunting and I still am not sure where I am going. It does however agravate me to no end when people do stuff like that. How hard is it to ask permission...like really. Hope you catch them and goodluck on the hunt.

My very same problem. This too is my first year, and without an experienced hunter by my side to guide me, I've been aimlessly wandering the sideroads north of Toronto, looking for a township or county where a) they allow the discharge of firearms and b) the farmers haven't already been screwed over by a hunter in years past. I've heard stories of fields that have been chewed up by 4x4 ATV's and a pickups, garbage left all over the place, and even one farmer who said the person he let on his land to shoot turkeys took a deer in spring, left the guts and head at the edge of the woods, and hasn't been heard from since (no wonder).

It's hard to convince them that one bad apple does not represent the whole bushell.

Anyone want to band together and go hunt bad hunters?? :) Just kidding about the hunt them part, but serious about trying to weed out the bad ones to make it easier for us decent ones.
