I have two of these fine older Marlins (.35 Rem and .44 Rem Mag) and I just want to note (yet again) how truly superior these rifles are in every respect compared to the Win 94s.
I am a Winchester guy but the Marlin 336 IS superior to the Winchester 94 in nearly every respect including accuracy. Taking a 336 down for repair is simple compared with taking a 94 apart. With all the older 336's made from the 50's to the 80's floating around for bargain prices I can't understand why anyone would buy a new one(lower quality, abortion of a safety and higher price).

My contribution, pre safety 336 in 35 Rem
