Ok so here is what I have noticed since having both, and the reasons I plan to keep the Troy
Starting with the BCG, the Troy comes complete and the Nea only comes with a carrier and you need to supply the bolt and hardware. Also the Troy has a nice Emblem marking where the Nea is plain. Also the staking on the gas key looks much better on the Troy compared to the Nea
NEA on top TROY on bottom, all but the bottom left stake on the NEA are doing nothing IMO they are too light to be holding anything
The rubber stopper on the buffer on the NEA looks like is has been cut down with a saw or some type of grinder, it is not a smooth or straight cut
NEA left Troy right
On the TROY the release mechanism is on the bottom and can be activated with your thumb while still holding the grip. Also in this pic you can see a set screw, there is no mention of it in the install instructions but I believe tightening that will lock into one of the little grooves in the buffer tube extension locking it into place.
The NEA simply uses a magazine release button, its in a more awkward location and harder to operate
TROY I like the color better it is actually black where the NEA is a grayish color, another nice bonus being made of aluminum VS plastic the but stock has build in QD stockets on both sides
The TROY extension tubes have 6 positions where the NEA only has closed or extended, they are also better made IMO as you can see they are hollowed out for weight savings and have more machining invoked with them
The NEA are just round and use a set screw on the end to shop the travel
The back of the TROY stock it cut out for the tube to recess into it, this allows it to collapse about 3/8" more making it slightly shorter in over all length
Even though the Troy is made out of all aluminum and has a more complex mechanism, compared to the NEA with a plastic stock, it weighs less
Overall going by appearance, design, fit finish, packaging. So far TROY is quite a bit ahead of NEA IMO just a lot more expensive! Im sure the NEA will get the job done for more people that aren't that picky. Just waiting on IRG next import for my billet upper/lower so I can build my PDW and try this out.
