Truck guns. What is your favourite

I bought my wife her first rifle. A CVA scout compact stainless take down in 243. Scoped it would fit in a 24x10” case of some sort. Measured under my truck seat for curiosity sake and it should fit as long as the case isn’t too thick. I was thinking an out of the way backup rifle on hunt trips ect.

I know you are not supposed to talk about truck guns ...... but while we are at it.

What do you folks do with your truck gun when you get home .... or when you go to sleep.

I mean storage regulations apply at that time ....

Just wondering .....

I confess. I may have misunderstood the definition of a truck gun, my "truck gun" is locked up in secure storage inside my house when I am not out in the bush doing outdoor activities. I don't take it to the grocery store.

Iron Horse Sentry 12. Bought it because I like strange things turns out it might be the best pump action shotgun I have ever owned.

I like my matched pair of RugerM77 carbines in .357 and .44mag. Choice of cartridge depends on the expected jobs that they may need to do. The .357 is a fun plinker and small game gun. The .44 is more serious if larger critters may be encountered. They are both the stainless/synthetic version. Tough, small, handy, easy to stow and capable for a variety of tasks. For a truck gun, a detachable magazine is must for me. Otherwise my Rossi and Winchester M92's would be just as good.

As soon as hunting season is over this becomes my companion 12 ga. over 222.
