Trudeau and Blair BAN 12 Gauge and 10 Gauge SHOTGUNS!

So much fear mongering and cuckery here.

If you want to go turkey hunting with your 12g, go for it. Nobody is going to do anything about.

I believe they want to ban them, but it wasn't this time. This is just a good example of how little these dolts actually think about what they are doing.

Fear mongering? They literally just banned 10g and 12g shotguns, the vast majority of modern made ones. So no this is not fear mongering I can no longer hunt with my 12g without risking loosing my entire collection. So I'll be over here trying not to lose all the guns I own, while people like you just prance around like everything is fine and dandy.

I enjoyed turkey hunting with my 12 gauge this morning.

You know, the one with the interchangeable choke that is measured at less than 20mm at the chamber.

Please. I understand the strategy of "riling up all firearm owners" because, well, bascially we can't do anything else....but concentrate on instagram and facebook, not here where you would hope people have a brain in their head and where we should be discussing how many AR lowers we bought on Thursday April 30th.

We most certainly live in interesting times. I never thought I would see licensed firearms owners defending the minister tasked with implementing Canada's latest gun ban, but here we are. Have a look around, plenty of these folks are defending the minister & posting his tweet refuting Ed Burlew's legal opinion that the OIC impacts 10ga and 12ga shotguns with removable choke tubes.

Let's recap.

Ed Burlew is a lawyer & wrote a detailed opinion for the CSSA. The minister is not a lawyer & his tweet is hardly something you could use to defend yourself in court with. And as others have said, the judge will look at the OIC, which is now law, and make a ruling which will set a legal precedent.

What we know is that 10ga & 12ga shotguns with their screw in choke tubes removed, exceed the 20mm OIC as written. Furthermore, screwing in a choke tube to make the bore diameter less than 20mm, is like attaching a flash hider and claiming it increases barrel length. Both are illegal.

The Technical Spec for measuring a shotgun, requires the choke tube to be removed.

By now, I'm hoping you are starting to see the light as to where the confusion comes in...

Here's an example:

A Winchester SX3 shotgun with it's choke tube out exceeds 20mm. (0.836" = 21.23mm)

12 GAUGE SHOTGUNS ARE NOT INCLUDED

Wait your taking a facebook post as law? Your joking right? How about going and reading the actual law instead a unofficial website post that represents himself not the government, and not the law. Did you read the comments at least? Or did you just ignore the 2000+ people proving him wrong and calling him out on his lie?

Completely understood Jay, it pained me to even visit his facebook page to copy the link. I would be happy to be the guinea pig right to the Supreme Court of Canada if I get pinched hunting waterfowl or turkey with my 12 gauge. Until then, I'll remain fighting the OIC just like everyone else and keep dropping mallards.

Calm down and store your 12 gauge.

So I’m not disputing any of this. But I have yet to be able to find in the Fire Arms act where it says that a flashhider or barrel device cannot be used in measurements of the firearm.

What is a forensic standard and where is that found? Is that from the RCMP labs?

No ones been able to actually site any law that says “you cannot use the measurements of a barrel device to effect classification”? Anyone have any ideas?

Ok Karen.

You do you.

I am pretty sure you don't understand my post.

You literally insult this entire forum with "cuckery" then call me a Karen.. So yes I do understand your post. Your telling people to not be pussy's and break the law. So no I won't take your advice lined with insults to go ahead and use a prohib to hunt with. Stop advising people to break the law. Not everyone has the funds or the capability to recover from such a charge.

Yeah, you still don't understand my post, but I'll leave it at that.

What a relief. If i ever had to defend myself in court I just know i can count on Bill Blair('s twitter feed) to beat all my charges!

His Twitter is down. I hope someone screencapped it.

By saying firearms on the list aren't affected he is in essence saying law enforcement has discretion in enforcement. That's good since most LEOs think he's a chump, and many of them personally own suddenly-prohibited firearms.

He may *say* they aren't affected but his own Order says they are. It can't be both.

Exactly, as it is written, it is against the law. If a law enforcement official decides to charge you they would be clear of any wrongdoing and you would have to go to court to defend yourself.
If an unspeakable event occurs with a device that will remain nameless the government could say "hey we have that covered".

Hell, maybe it would be best for our cause if hunters and sport shooters continued to use them and for all of them to have the charges later dropped. Hell, some people are admitting it, what would that cost the legal system.
"Hey great job Bill, I got a new job for you, keeping the arctic circle safe"

The chamber, forcing cone, and choke are NOT part of the bore.
Bores are generally between 18.4. - 18.7 mm.... and will be stamped on the barrel in metric/imperial units.
Please stop spreading misinformation...you’re making gun owners look bad.... put away those callipers and educate yourself
