As long as Canada political system will remain based on a monarchical system (constitutional monarchie), we will be treated like subject, just like people from Great Britain or Australia. No individual rights. We are not on the land of the free but on the land of the Queen. To much political power, not enough direct democracy.
 
It is about high time that Canada became an independent country not affiliated with the royal monarchy, India did it?

With regards to the great leader making a gun ban announcement at a venue that would politically lend itself to such a draconian measure considering the findings of the Blair project do not support it. It is also scary that the possibility of such stupidity supposedly comes from credible sources.

Turdeau's sinking so-called popularity indicates he will not win the next election so any desperate measure such as this one would deflect from the current bad publicity and would resonate with simpleton voters. Personally, I would guess that he might run on a gun ban platform and "Make Canada safe again" and his supposed announcement might be exactly this and not a draconian ban.
 
Agree 100% on this statement. Out of the blue comes the PPC to save us, at exactly the same time the Liberal's were sure their ship was going to sink. Divide the vote so there is no Conservative majority is the game here. Irrelevant whether the PPC is good or not. A Conservative majority is the only thing that can undo the Liberal damage without it taking years.

Member of the legion. We sing god save the queen at meetings. Other than that, i can't think of another time it comes up. If your advocating for more checks and balances, don't confuse that with royalty.

Sorry, when i go there for a beer, i take off my hat in respect for the queen.

I think I’ll elect to do a couple phone calls and call the two ridings here in the city that elected liberals by a slim lead.

Good for you. However there are many people both here, and in Britain who believe we can do without all the royalty crap. Then there’s the People magazine articles and non-news that people get off on every time a royal family member reproduces.
