And the NDP will crawl across the floor on their bellies to side with Libs on assault weapons ban just as long as handguns are thrown in as well... and it will pass with NDP support cause NDP is flat broke and can’t fight another election anytime soon
 
hopefully Scherer will cal for an investigation of trudeau/snc shenanigans first day.jugmeet should support this motion.let the them know they are going to be in for a hard time going forward. the reds will try to bully the ndp at some point so hopefully a non confidence vote is in the future. also who knows what else is lurking in this boy/man's closet.i don't think it's empty yet.

I was pointing out to people that either paid or news items . All they mentioned was you need piece of ID and proof of adress to vote . None mentioned you needed to be citizen .
 
In theory, and yet somehow I personally know of at least two instances where a ref claimaint, ie. a foreign national not even a PR, got a voter card, and a PR got one as well. Willing to bet those weren't the only two.

Also saw a story that Elections Canada removed over 100,000 people from the elector list who were not citizens...how did 100,000 ineligible people get on the list of electors in the first place?

There are at least 4 ways to get added to the list:
  1. Canada Revenue Agency sends anyone who ticked the box on their income tax return
  2. driver's licences are considered potential electors, and to keep address information up to date.
  3. party canvassers sometimes ask if anyone in the home is a potential voter and didn't receive an election card. The party canvasser collects the information and submits it to elections canada. This is a trusted source as far as election's canada is concerned, although the potential for error is high particularly when there are language difficulties.
  4. at the polling station, someone may vouch for you

In this election, Elections Canada will be going over who voted, and trying to verify that they are a canadian citizen.
If the voter isn't a canadian citizen, they may be criminally charged, but obviously as far as the ballot is concerned that's damage done (no way to fix that).
 
The result was not what we hoped for, but there are still some outcomes that we can view as positive.
Conservatives WON the popular vote...this has value.
Conservatives swept effectively the west. This has value. Trudeau will be forced to (as long as CON hold their feet to the fire) to acknowledge that there are distinct differences in Canada.
This is a weak government, and if history tells us anything will likely fall in 18-24 months.

There is still some hope that doomsday might pass....

It was one of the first things he said.
However he also said that about proportional representation, balanced budget in 2019 and providing 100 million a year to police to fight gangs and guns.
And we know what happened to these platform promises.
 
Sheer will need to be replaced before next election. Has he spent enough time in cabinet to earn an indexed pension for life? If not he’s not going to step down.

Get over it Bernier is not coming back. :)

Scheer did a great job. People who don't pull their head out of the Liberal cloud or turn off the CBC will have to realize that he is not going anywhere.

Perhaps those who do not like it can get started on PPC 2 - the sequel right now to help Justin third time around like happened this time.

I don’t know. He picked up 23 seats compared to the last election. And we’ve already shaken all the skeletons out of his closet. I don’t think a new leader can become familiar enough to be win-worthy in just 18-24 months. Not to mention, the prospect of another closet of skeletons for the media to sift through.
