Disagree. You're paying 4 -5 times as much for the brand name parts. Quality - potentially - but not 4x the quality, of that I am 100% confident.

The Norinco M14S are non-restricted - it doesn't matter what stock it's in.

The Springfield (M1A) ones shorter than 18.5" are restricted.

The original M14 is prohibited 12.3 as a converted auto.

All norinco that came to my hands had some problems in it: from crucked barrel to ####ty rear sight or stock.

When both sides start seeing this argument objectively. But CGN is simply a stomping ground for everyone with a Norc and few with a SAI, American forums paint a different picture of SAI rifles (ie not as bad as is claimed here).

The properties of 8620 are much better suited as a receiver and bolt material over 51XX series steel that the Chinese use. Everyone claims that a forged receiver is better, sure I know a Investment casting will approach 90-95% of the life of a forging or better, considering the life of a M14 was rated at 425,000 rounds I don't think any of us will ever see the difference between a forged or investment cast receiver. Better question is how much are you losing by using a inferior steel to make the receivers and bolts like you do with 51XX series steel?
