trying to to decide between various .22's to buy

Of your choices, the CZ is likely the way to go.

I will offer up two additional suggestions

The IZH 35 (also know as an IJ 35) can sometime be found for 500$ - an excellent pistol!! Still used by many eastern european shooters internationally.

For a more main stream gun I like the Browning Buckmark Splash. It have a very nice trigger!

Good luck,

Brian

I have the CZ Kadet attachment for my other CZ 9mm pistols and I also have a Ruger Mark III .22. It is hard to say which is my favorite. The Kadet is definitely easier to clean and maintain. The ruger is a total pain to take apart. However the Ruger is super accurate. I love them both. You can't go wrong with either. I would probably favor the CZ products if push came to shove.

Beretta U22 Neos

When I was looking for a .22 handgun I read a huge amount of material on the Browning versus Ruger choice. I came to the conclusion that it was clearly a matter of personal preference between two great guns. I then read about the Beretta U22 Neos and liked what I was reading, so I bought one. I am very pleased with the accuracy and reliability of this gun. Considering, too, that it was $50 less expensive before taxes and shipping at the time than either the Browning or Ruger was also a deciding factor. I have put a couple hundred rounds through my gun and I can say that I really enjoy it. Look up some reviews of this gun and you should find some very positive comments.

BERRETA NEOS

I agree , I've shot these a couple of times. They are reliable and pretty accurate but they kinda look like they are from Battlestar Gallactica !

You have a point, Ballox. I find that when people see this gun for the first time, they really notice the long scope rail on top and are surprised when I tell them it's a Beretta. Mine is a 6 inch model, so I'm sure the appearance of the gun would be even more eye-catching with the 7 inch model.

The coolest thing on the Beretta to me was the mag release. A press of the button really launches the mag out like a rocket !

x2 on the older High Standards. Finding the old mags can be difficult though and I don't hear anything good about the new ones. I went with the S&W 41 but you'd have to look long and hard to find one for $500. There is no easier pistol than the model 41 to take down and clean.

Rugers - 'nuff said. Lots of people shoot them. They are a pain to clean.

Brownings - easier to clean but you have to remove the scope rail if you have it mounted to get to the takedown screws.

The conversions aren't really going to give you the best target pistol. Target pistol sights generally don't move with the slide so the point of aim never shifts. Lots of options if you aren't thinking of anything more than informal shooting.

PS also shot the Beretta Neos. Two issues I have - no way to change the grips and the trigger was nasty, at least on the specimen I shot.

Had a mosquito for about two hours. It went back. Piece of junk. Couldnt cycle cheap ammo at all. It cycles rem golds better but to about 50% of the time. If I have to spend 5X's the the price for a plinker Id by another 9mm.
Atleast then it would fell like a mans gun. HA HA HA
I wounder what you guys use to cycle the CZ and Glock kits.
Ruger, Browning, S&W are probably better choices.

Between ruger, cz kadet, walther p22, sig mosquito?

On anther note a friend does have a mosquito and it wont stop jamming, FTE's, FTF's, FTL's, bad one out of the box??? What do you guys think? Its brand new by the way.

thanks

I have kadet that I put on SP-01.

I shoot better SP-01 than Kadet. I cannot get used to Kadet sight,
but if you have a regular CZ75, the sight picture should be the same.
With SP-01, I do 2" groups from 25 yrds anytime I like, both hands, off hand.
4" at 50 yrds.
With Kadet, I do 4-5" groups from 25 yrds, I just cannot shoot using its sights.

I just bought a Mosquito (as I mentioned in another thread) and I'm having a hard time trying to dissemble what exactly is wrong with it...seems some people are having troubles while others are not.

Has anyone had any experience with the new and improved model? Do it still have issues?
