Wet tumbling vs dry tumbling is almost as big a difference as progressive press vs single stage press. I really don't understand the abuse dry tumblers are willing to take to say they keep their old technology.
Actually, a better analogy would be that dry tumbling is like lighting your house with candles, and wet tumbling is like having electricity.
Can one of the mods make one of these threads a sticky already?
Seems to pop up at least once a month.
Question for the guy's that wet tumble with the SS pins. After the brass is cleaned what is the easiest way to seperate the brass and the pins. Seems like it could be a issue.
Thanks
I never resize any brass before it is cleaned, then when it is resized I tumble again to remove the sizing lubricant. Never fire a cartridge that has remnants of Lube on it.
I use the Frankford Arsenal wet tumbler, that has a couple of slotted ends to keep brass in and shake out the pins. It works well enough. Also the pins are magnetic so you can go over the brass with a magnet to pick up more pins.
I spread the brass on a towel or piece of cloth to dry anyway, so that's the best time to use a magnet.

The pins can be transferred from separator back into the tumbler barrel for storage by pouring the water and pins into the barrel and then pouring off the excess water. Once you get the hang of this, only a few pins are left behind in the separator to pick up with the magnet.
Why wouldn't one decap before tumbling?
How come the stainless steel pins can be picked up by a magnet? Chinese recycled stainless steel?
