Walnut. Much faster cleaning than corncob. Dont bother with gun-store media. Can be found on the cheap at pet stores (reptile bedding) and at prince$$ Auto in the sandblasing media dept. Pays to find a few buddies that all want the same and buy in bulk. Add a bit of Brasso and voila.
Brasso contains 5-10% ammonia which is NOT recommend for brass cases, many users have recommended using Nu-Finish car wax in place of Brasso.
I use SS pins to clean and polish my brass.
Why is that anyway? I've read that a few places but no one ever has a reason.

Anhydrous ammonia is not compatible with copper, brass, bronze, zinc or mercury. Ammonia corrodes copper and brass into a blue-green salt.

That's why I previously cautioned against the use of ammonia on your brass cases and instead suggested the use of Nu-Finish car wax.
