So from what I understand deer hunting and small game like rabbits should be fine?

Pattern the gun with the loads you intend to use and work out until you no longer have confidence in a solid killing pattern and hunt within those ranges. No deer or bunny will ever know they were killed by a shot from a shorter barrel

My cousin and I purchased each purchased a Hatsan Escort Platinum Missione in 2017 not knowing if it was worth investing in a more expensive semi. So far each has had at least 10k rounds through it with no issues aside from perhaps a handful of challenger target loads stovepiping. They've been used as loaners and to introduce people to shooting. They have been run hard and the gas system cleaned very seldom.

My cousin has run several thousand rounds through a huglu O/U with no mechanical issues. It has ejectors. Only complaint would be the stock is quite wide IMO vs for example a beretta 69X or a browning citori.

The quality is obviously not equivalent to the name brand B guns, but their reliability has inspired enough confidence for me to try out a couple other Turkish shotguns from Rampart Corp's closeout sale of ATA shotguns. ATA manufactures the orion, element and sa-08 for weatherby as rebrands of their SP, neo and CY shotguns. I'm not expecting a sub 400$ rebranded sa-08 to last 40k rounds, but it's cheap way to try out a semi 20ga and have a loaner or bad weather gun. I also won't feel bad dragging around a sub-700$ O/U in the rain. I'll report back on the ATA once I've had a chance to run a few flats through them. If a 373$ shotgun craps the bed, I'll be much less frustrated than if one made by 2 of the 3 Bs does and I have to deal with Stoeger.

Because of the 18" barrel. Thought shorter barrels make it very hard. Granted I haven't hunted with it, just from what I've read. If someone knows that it's possible, let me know

Those barrels are 9.8 inches long. That turkey didn't die of a heart attack :)

This^^^^

Same with slugs, i use an 18" charles daly semi auto with challenger 2.75" magnum slugs and IC choke. At 50yrds (my longest shot where i will be hunting) there will be a dead deer if it gives me a shot at it lol

Update on the sulun ss211

Tried shooting steel 3" BB goose loads out of the included MOD choke.

The choke tube was a pain in the arse to remove! You can see the tube was expanded enough to require to unscrew it nearly the entire length because it was so tight against the threads.

I will be trying next time with the improved cylinder. But this might just stay a short range turkey gun after all.

Some Turkish choke tubes are crap. Buy the equivalent chokes made by another reputable brand and you’ll be fine. That choke looks to be a mobilchoke. Mobilchokes are very easy to find. Look on the EE for factory Beretta chokes. Also, Carlson mobilchokes are a dime a dozen and pretty inexpensive.

I figured it was like putting an aftermarket bumper on your car, save a few bucks but it was not made to exact specifications lol ill do as you suggested and look for another couple of mods, thanks!

Update on turkish sulun ss211

Tried the cremator chokes, fit great and no threading issues!

Only had some challenger 3inch BB to test it out at and at 20yrds was getting 40+ pellets on the board, but the cardboard was smaller than 30inches. Patterns weren't amazing so i will try again with different shells (i also have number 2s to try out)

Flames were bigger this time. I could actually see burning powder bouncing off the target when i moved to 15yrds. Looked like embers from a fire lol

This thing is literally a blast lol

I have had two Turkish Shotguns.

Armsan Armscore something or other. A tactical 18.5" with all the doo-dads; fiber optic ghost rings, heat shield, pistol grip stock, railed forend, spring assisted pump. It had no issues and is saw a few hundred rounds before I moved it a long. Come to think of it, it was actually pretty nice for a $350 gun.

Revolution Armory R4 Turknelli. No issues so far. The fit/finish seems to be a little nicer then some of the other M4 clones.

Well now I am embarrassed ,I have had a Turkish made S -08 weatherby 28g for about 7 years ,Bought it new out of PR and today I find out there is a safety recall since 2014!!Checked the serial numbers yes it does fall into the category although it is on the high end ,so the issue is slamfire when closing the bolt and they say do not use .Hmm well it has not done this in over 400 rounds that I have used it but they claim that closing it dimples the primer. So conducted a test and yes it just scratches it(pic coming) The gun has never gone off on me and I used it one whole season of pheasant hunting with no issues .Should I send it in ??

Well update on Weatherby warranty in Canada. Talked to the warranty shop in Canada that does Weatherby fixes ,they claim that Weatherby has the parts and has yet to send them ,we are on month 8!!!. So phoned Weatherby customer service and had a chat(amazing a real person) who said he would find out what is happening. E mail next day explaining that yes they do have the parts but my warranty claim had been "misplaced?"but the parts would be going north with their next shipment. Sounded genuine on the phone but The clincher I guess was a back up e mail apologizing for there error. Take from it what you will but was definitely worth the call ,see if it is home by New Year.

Well I bought a huglu side by side with a straight grip and double triggers. First time I took if off safe it doubled and split the tip of my thumb open and fractured my phalanges.

It's been three months and still waiting on it to return from warranty, spent a good portion of that time waiting for the warranty centre to move shops or something. Great comms, shipping label etc from Prophet River. They also supplied the Franchi Affinity I replaced it with. Think I'm finally done with Turkish guns. Any future shotguns will be Italian.

Honestly probably sell the "used" huglu at a big loss now, major bummer

WELLL let me tell you Stoeger has left me more than wondering after the last time I dealt with them.In fact I believe there are a few on this sight that will echo the same exp. So just because its Italian does not mean there could not be issues. But I too sold both my Huglu and CZ .Although the CZ seemed to work fine but was much heavier than I expected.
