1. I own an Armsan RSX2 12g Pump - Paid $130.00 for it at auction a few years back. It is my go to shotgun. Stupidly reliable, no matter how dirty or abused it is. It rattles a bit but the action is smooth (likely because of how sloppy it is) and it always goes boom.

2. Khan Arms single shot .410 - Super cheap, reliable. Was my go to grouse gun for years.

3. Revolutionary Arms Tactical Turkey - Fit and finish look good. Havent had a chance to run any rounds through it as of yet. This will be my first turkish, semi auto shotgun.

Well, I am more of a utility shotgun kind of guy, leaving the nice finishes to my hunting rifles. Maybe it's time to treat myself to a pretty smoothbore!

These are chemically case color hardened. Its not true case color hardening like oscar does. My dickinson is true and outstanding
These 2 do have lighter wood. Really stands out in a gun rack but hunting it doesnt seem to matter

Ive always questioned why a beretta 686 cant have wood like this.
The fit and finish is very well done. The finish fills and seals the wood very well. Miles ahead of the finish on my 3 beretta a400s.
These 2 20ga guns sport 26" barrels which i love. Super fast and nicely balanced with the weight between the hands.
Deep rich bluing. For the money i think they are the best value

The Hulu 410 that I have has a color case hardening finish and it’s proving to be not very durable. I’ve probably only put 500 rounds through it and the finish is noticeably starting to dull under the receiver from carrying around the sporting clays course. By comparison I have a FAIR with Color case hardened finish that has slightly north of 10 thousand rounds through it with about the same level of fade.

Im opposite kinda lol. My rifles are mostly utilitarian except my custom 458wm. My shotguns on the other hand are much nicer. I prefer doubles. Reliability over everything. I do own basic field guns as well but i keep aiming for higher grades and finishes. Life is too short to hunt with an ugly gun and in the deep south west ontario most hunting is done with scatterguns

My 20ga is starting to fade on the edges but ive carried it thru the bush for many miles and my sweat can stain stainless guns. Im sure in another 4 or 5 seasons itll wear to a greyish finish but itll be thru honest use.
With the chemical coloring you also have to be careful what cleaners you use one them. Ive seen a grade 5 beretta have its fake colors wiped right off with a bore cleaner
I use g96 and it seems to really highlight the colors while giving it some protection from rust

Oskar puts an automotive grade clear lacquer over his CCH finishes to protect them. Both chemical and real CCH rub off quite easily. The key is to put them in a glass case to look at, let them wear gracefully through honest use, or clear lacquer them to prolong their beauty.

If “chemical cch” is done does that mean turk “ coin finish” is just bare steel? Or rather aluminum in some cases?

I like Turk shotguns fine but I’m not operating under the illusion that them looking nice makes them better or equal to recognized euro brands. Reminds of the “ my savage/tikka/etc is just as good as” crowd. Like them for what they are, functional, inexpensive field guns. Just my opinion, not worth much

They are. Theyve proven themselves reliable and the euro market they are well respected. Same company that makes them made the shotguns for kimber years ago. Their royal line is just stunning

Had a Pardus pump. A turd with a firing pin stuck in it.
I think Pardus set the standard low... not really a fair comparison. It was made to the lowest price point possible. It's like asking Mossberg to build a 500 at a $90 price point, and then it's sold under some silly brand name like "Optimus RZ23" for $250. Blame the the third party sellers for that crap

Only have 150rnds through my Winchester SXP field so far.

But so far zero issues and fits me very well. Using it for trap shooting every other weekend. Been very happy with it. Not as Purdy as my inherited Beretta am301. But that’s to be expected for the price difference. Funny enuff I have even fewer rounds through the Beretta as gramps bought it and never got to shooting it and I’m a new shooter. So I have only got 25 shells through it.

That being said neither has enuff rounds for me to really make any kinda judgment. All I can say is so far i Very happy with the SXP.

I wish I inherited something as nice and sentimental... It would be used and extremely well cared for. Enjoy both.
