I purchased my second Canuck 12 gauge pump shotgun. This one is the "Pioneer" model with a 28 inch chrome lined vent rib barrel. Dead simple design. I added a 14 inch barrel from my previous Canuck "Renegade" model (which I also had Cerakoted), a quality King's Arms 6-shot shell holder, a UTG universal dovetail to Picatinny rail, a cheap but very durable Amazon brand laser scope, and an RX Arms aluminum hand stop. These guns are dead simple to disassemble and clean. If you're lucky, you might also score some very decent Turkish walnut furniture. They come threaded for mobile chokes, and usually come with three. I do have a complete plastic stock set, and raptor grip, if I so wish to change things up. Quality accessories can be had from Bullseye North, for a 1/3 the cost of 870/500 accessories. I highly recommend these guns, and felt no need to hang on to my 870's and 500.

Just a bit about O'Dell Engineering. I submitted a warranty claim using their easy-to-use online form. I accidentally dropped my shotgun on a rocky outcrop and damaged the wood forend. I was simply expecting them to deny my warranty claim and have to pay for a new forend as it was my fault. They sent me a brand new forend the next day! I can't say enough about how excellent their warranty service is, and on the two occassions where I needed parts, they were in stock and available.

I had my huglu 103fe 20ga with grade 3 wood out today and shot another perfect score in skeet with it. Ive only put a flat thru it so far but 7 or the 10 rounds have been perfect scores on the skeet field.
I have 3 huglus 1 dickinson 1 canuck and 1 crappy tristar. Ive got about 1200 rnds thru my huglu sxs 202b 20ga and its been flawless. It will likely triple that amount this year

No opinion either way on Turkish guns. But the straights are a reflection of your shooting, not the guns quality. Well done.

You could give Tiger Woods a set of cheap clubs from Canadian Tire and he would still out play most other golfers!

Barrels are well regulated. The chokes are threaded straight and pattern well. The stock geometry fits me perfectly which allows easier and consistent mounts. The balance with the 26" barrels is what i find perfect for how i shoot. All that plays into what some turkish companys are producing.
My tristars barrels used to pattern 3' apart. Ill never buy a kral made gun again. But huglu and dickinson id have no issues buying either and they can make very nice higher grade guns in the 5 to 10 grand range which are exceptional

bought a very nice looking but it was not 100% reliable and that is not good enough for me....outside was very nice but inside lacked quality control.....have had better luck with older 870s

I have a Churchill 12 Gauge Pump with a 12" or 12.5" barrel that I bought from C Tire several years ago for $200 or $250.

I've painted it tan, bolted on a shell holder and added a rail on the pump to hold a flashlight. I have shot a few grouse with it. The first round I ever shot out of it was to scare off a bear that had just clawed a tent that a lady friend and I were sleeping in at the time.

I rated it very good, but not excellent. There's really nothing wrong with it, it's just not as good as the BPS I used to own. It's actually a bit too "tight". If you get a little sand or dirt in the action it is very hard to cycle and sometimes doesn't want to release a round from the magazine.

Derya is top notch, break in was demanding but hasn't failed since. Lots of cleaning though with the filthy buffer-bolt system.

In my comment I forgot about another Turk on the far end of the bottom of the spectrum a mossberg silver reserve sxs

It was the first shotgun I ever owned that I bought myself (previously used a gifted mossberg 500 two barrel set for all my hunting).

One session of patterning the gun ( including a serious misunderstanding of what shooting from the hip meant where I rested it on my hip and touched off some buckshot) the piece of metal soldered between the ribs found a new home downrange

Return on warranty after months the retailer was nice enough to give me a new gun as I knew the manager. One (admittedly fast and furious) sporting clays session and short sea duck hunt with hevi shot (ouch) later and the piece was gone again. Didn’t make much of a difference as it was barely regulated to begin with, I would look down each seperate barrel and change my lead in the direction of the barrel I was shooting to accomodate

You get what you pay for, but for a young (er) guy working seasonally it was a real blow to lose that 700 bucks and what was my “ dream shotgun” at the time. Soured me to mossberg imports forever.

This was ~ 8 years ago, I have heard that many Turkish manufacturers have revamped their production since then. My huglu over under was very well put together, not a silver pigeon but not much is

Can you post a pic of your Huglu SxS? What do you use if for?

I use it for hunting. Rabbits. Grouse. Duck. Turkey carried it but havent taken one yet and ive also taken it goose hunting. I use it fairly regularly on the skeet field as well. Ill take it on my next pheasant hunt as well likely.

Brybenn; obviously, you have great taste and quite clearly those are some NICE hunting tools! Can you imagine what a "B gun" would cost with that kind of a wood?! I particularly like the CCH. I have had plenty of guns and parts CCH'ed by our own Okar Kob. It's a unique touch and every gun comes out differently. I really need to pick-up a SxS in that configuration.

These are chemically case color hardened. Its not true case color hardening like oscar does. My dickinson is true and outstanding
These 2 do have lighter wood. Really stands out in a gun rack but hunting it doesnt seem to matter

Ive always questioned why a beretta 686 cant have wood like this.
The fit and finish is very well done. The finish fills and seals the wood very well. Miles ahead of the finish on my 3 beretta a400s.
These 2 20ga guns sport 26" barrels which i love. Super fast and nicely balanced with the weight between the hands.
Deep rich bluing. For the money i think they are the best value
