Sunday June 22nd, at the Tweedsmuir Park Rod & Gun Club (Babine Lake Rd, Burns Lake BC)

500 & 700 yard steel plates, starting at 12" and down to 2"

Hit to move on to the next smaller target, scoring is on a point system (12" 1pt, 10" 2pt, 8" 3pt, 6" 4pt, 4" 5pt, 2" 6pts - hit all six targets for 21 points - BLACKJACK!) 12 shots in 2 minutes


Open to all centerfire rifles, shot off a bench with a front & rear rest


Registration starts at 8am and entry fee is $20

This event is the third of five Blackjack shoots across north west BC

Getting to the 4” at 700 wasn’t to bad, but I only hit 3 out of 15 shots on the 2” (practicing the 2” more then the others). The mirage was crazy, pretty tough to see 2” even with 30x. Turning the scope down helped with mirage a bit, but then couldn’t see 2” at all. Once the paints knocked off it then it’s really tough to see lol. It’ll be an interesting shoot!! Fingers crossed for some cloud cover.

Those 2 “ will be tuff if there’s any wind 💨
It would be a Very FUN shoot . I think my 6 GT would be up to it but maybe not me 🤷🏼‍♂️

7th target is the spare 2" in case something happens to the first 2" , they tend to get beat up more than the larger targets

2" is 0.27moa at 700 yards , tough feat for sure

Hitting those tiny steel plates for points and chasing that sweet 21 like a real high stakes game. I love how it mixes gun fun with that casino vibe, getting the adrenaline pumping just like when you're at the tables chasing a big win. That's wild, only 1 hit on the 2" at 700 out of how many shooters? That little target at 0.27moa is basically a coin flip even on a calm day. Mirage at 500 is bad enough, I can only imagine what 700 looks like mid-afternoon in June out there. Props to whoever dinged it. Looks like a great turnout too, nice to see these shoots getting some traction across the northwest. Houston's up next - anyone here heading to that one?

June 20/21 is the next shoots, Endako moved their shoot to the Burns lake range for this season, doing both shoots the same weekend. Houston shoot is on June 28th, and Kitimat July 10-12th.

Iv got the days booked off to hit them all!
 
So its basically just show up and register for challenge with the $20 when you get there???

How is that going to work on both shoots for the June 20/21 weekend?

Can you guys provide some more details?

Yup you bet! I can’t remember the cost, it was $20-$30 iirc. Show up this morning with your rifle(s) to register and weigh in, then shoot :).

Registration for the June 20 Endako blackjack shoot will open up next week on the Nechako Outdoors site. Not sure on the June 21 Tweedsmuir Blackjack but it will likely be cash at the morning of shoot. I'll post link to the sign up when it's live on the Nechako page!

What Decker9 posted above is for the 1000 yard shoot in Burns lake (today/tomorrow)!
