Can anyone say frivolous??? Why do they deserve $160,000?? For what? It was a mistake. Don't get me wrong, personal rights are the most cherished and important aspect of our society. but really.... $160,000? Personaly, I think a front page story, in every newspaper that carried the story, stating that a mistake was made and that these two defandants have yet to state their case in court would be sufficient. Maybe I'm just naive but how exactly does a misprinted article stating that someone plead guilty when they didn't, cause you to loose money? I think it's streach of the imagination, and complete BS... But thats just my opinion....

Just how would you like it if every person looked at you in the street of your own hometown & spat in your face or called you & your kids names because some Gov't employee reported you had been found guilty of some dispickable crime when in reality you hadn't even had a chance to plead yet, hell you may not even be guilty but now you've been branded??

Maybe you are naive but think before you post! It's a fact that Joe public generally believes every word of gossup & takes it as fact till proven wrong. So now these guys have to go into court knowing the judge or every person on the jury has already assumed their are guilty, it will take much more to be proven innocent.

Whether they are actually guilty or innocent has nothing to do with it.

Exactly. Doesn't matter if they did it or not. Its bad enough that our gun laws are written so that its guilty until proven innocent, we don't need COs pulling the same thing, and so blatantly. I don't think 160k is frivolous at all. I don't like poachers, but these guys have been done wrong by, and a lot worse than shooting a deer out of season.

We have to assume innocent until proven guilty, or else we might as well move to Iraq.

Typical SERM witchhunt-my kid shot a big deer and now I hear he's being investigated-SERM officers quizzing his friends etc. They have lost what little credibility they ever had with me-in Sask. if you are a better hunter than your local officers you are PRESUMED guilty from the looks of things.
