Main 2 rifles
My 2 main rifles are:
1-Remington 700 Mountain rifle (blue/walnut) .280 Rem, Leupold VXIII 2.5-8 (Leupold DD rings/bases). Owned over 20 years, sub 1" 3-shot groups, light weight.
2-Remington 700 BDL SS/DM 7m/m Rem Mag,Bushnel Elite 3200 3-9X40 (Leupold ss bases/matt blue rings). Owned 10 years,sub 1" 3-shot groups, foul weather rifle,not overly heavy.
Granted there's not much difference between .280 and 7m/m mag. Weather conditions or style of hunting determines what I'll carry, sometimes a "gut feeling". Either way I always take 2 rifles on a hunt. With these 2 rifles I've taken probably 20+ deer and a few other critters over the years. Now after that being said, I might take along a new (to me) Winchester M70 .300 H+H(1954) for Alberta Elk/deer hunt in September.
