A good day. A spike at 2:45, got it field-dressed and saw that it was only 3:30, so out I went again, then an 8-pointer at 4:30. The spike was at 75 yds, and in tall grass, and not wanting to shoot through grass I tried my first neck shot. He went down and stayed put. Weighed 150 lbs before field dressing. The 8 pointer presented a great side shot at 135 yds through the boiler room, and he fell on the spot - he went 250 lbs. A sporter P14 (in 303 Brit of course) with 150gr Hornadys over 45.0 grs of Varget did the trick.
I have one more tag and more than a week of hunting left, and boy are they starting to move. I almost hit two deer on the way out, and the truck ahead of me had a doe hit it (bounced off the side). I'm holding out for a bruiser until the last day, when anything made of meat gets it.
