This gap you were talking about from the stock to the reciever, can you send us a pic of it?
Also is it wobbly or rigid?
the stock is not attached by bolts as on other guns I have seen, the stock has a good chunk of wood inside the receiver and pinned, it's not going anywhere the stock would have to split for it to become loose.
I exaggerated a little about the gap :) it's not that bad.

They are very easy to strip for cleaning, took me a minute or two to get it apart the first time, now that I know how it comes apart it will be much faster next time. Putting it together was a breeze. Mine ate 20 rounds of corrosive and I cleaned it right after, it was quick.

I'll also mention (mostly for the guys crying they haven't gotten their rifle yet) there was no email with tracking information or anything like that, the notice card that I had a package waiting just appeared in my mailbox. So instead of whining and stomping your feet go check your mail and relax.
Sounds like we have a bunch of millennials on here, not the good type of millennials who's parents did a good job of preparing their kids for the real world but the entitled type who's parents were their best friends, never said no or disciplined them and told them that they can have anything they want.
Some of you should be ashamed of your behavior. I've seen six year olds behave better at a toy store after being told they couldn't have the toy they wanted.
Being mad at TI for not sending your package first because you ordered early? You think the sea can should have been packed with your order last in so as soon as they opened the container it was ready to ship to you as a reward for waiting for a year? Sorry, the people loading the container know nothing about the order other than what needs to go into the container, it's just luck of the draw which boxes were closest to the door. Maybe there should have been an option for the first 50 orders where you pick between a gorgeous blond or brunette in a bikini to hand deliver your rifle and tell you how special you are and give you a big kiss before leaving?

well sum up.

Outside in the sun. Variations in color that the camera picks up is not as noticeable to the eye.

The gun looks really nice from a distance.... Looking like the Type 81 will definitely fill Canadas wound for not being able to have a semi auto only AK variant.

Looks great

Looks great, Thanks for sharing Bulriver, I ordered the same fixed early 2017, still waiting ... Thanks TI for bringing in such a nice rifle!

a lower recerver side mount top rail would be nice. want to put a EoTech on it. But mount it on the quad rail looks awkard.

Anyone get a chance to shoot one yet?

I've got 20 rounds through mine. Function was perfect and all magazines are pinned nicely to 5.5 and bolt hold open worked properly with all magazines.

Apparently, but no range reports yet or shooting for groups. I'm excited to see some targets!!!

I'm working tonight then have a couple weeks off, I'll try to do some shooting on paper tomorrow afternoon and will post pics as soon as I can. I did freshly paint my 25yd gong before hitting it with the T81 and most of the hits were clustered nicely. I was just standing trying to hit the plate every time but my rifle appears to be hitting to the left. My SKS sight tool worked perfectly but I haven't shot it since to see if I moved it enough.
The sights are a little weird but they work and I'm sure I'll get used to them.
Ejection is strong and high with empties landing in a decent circle to about 1:00

Yah that is the second thing I'll do when I receive mine, see what sort of clearance I have in the trigger group area for a side mount. I got a 2.5-6x24 mm SVD mount POSP needing a home hehe

does anyone know how the fix stock being pinned would compare in durability to a long cross bolt like an ak?. i remember reading they all went to folders due to stock durability concerns

It still sucks being one of the first to order the rifle and being told you will be one of the last to get it! A little more than a extra day or two like one guy (with gun in hand already) tried telling us. I have no doubt I will get my rifle and will be very happy when it gets here but having to wait another several weeks blows big time.

One of the perks of living in a have province, lol.
I'm sure yours will be there soon, it's in Canada Posts hands and we all know how fast they move some days. As I said earlier, I never got any tracking info before my rifle showed up so just keep checking the box looking for the little white card, it's probably on it's way already.

Are you planning to paddle your canoe down a rocky river using the T81?
Mine feels solid enough that I'm not worried about breaking it under normal use. The sling attaches close to the receiver as well so the stock won't take much force when it's hanging on the sling.

Are the pins on the mags tastefully done?

Cross pinned through the spine, almost invisible and mine were pinned nicely to 5.5 so they insert on a closed bolt without problems.

Hey Cr,
Is it possible to measure the length of upper and lower handguards. I wonder if Ak furniture will fit?

The lower is 7 inches long and the upper is about 4 3/4 inches.
If you need exact measurements PM me with exactly what dimensions you need, I can go remove them if needed.
