I agree. Additionally, that is widely reported on the forums where they can actually own them.

I have handled my uncles Type 56 and there was also a rental 56 at the range I worked at in my youth - they are nice rifles tho I have nothing to compare them to as I’ve only handled the Norinco AK’s

I’ve got several dewat ak’s,one of which is a Norinco .233,and a few friends have sizeable prohib collections, one has a pretty large selection of Ak’s of all different makes,FEGS mostly and m76’s and norc’s,and the Norcs are beautiful....I’d almost say nicer then the valmet, but i think that goes down to the fact that the Norc is brand new versus the m76 which has thousands of rounds and lots of bush use before it got relegated to the safe queen it is today.

Ever had a chance to handle a type 56 vs. Any of the century imported rifles? The fit and finish of the Norinco is wayyyy above the others,VEPR’s not included.

The Norinco AK’s really are a superb rifle

Just to add my 2% but I bought the full stock Norinco from century and returned it for same issues. Kept the under folder and side folder.

Turns out after checking last year the Norinco side folder is worst off than the T81 Never noticed before.

I did post picture on earlier thread.

The side folder type 56 is worse then the T81?

For a bent barrel?

The barrel is not bent, it is how the stock is mounted that puts curve into it.

Yes the 56 (was) worse (with) both (the) fixed and folder. Moral of story is its been almost 30 years and I still do not own the rifle (in the type) I returned.

Think I should of kept the rifle.
I have seen 556 ( Norinco) come up but looking for 762 (x39 calibre)

dont you mean how the receiver is mounted to the barrel (the front trunnion) ?

No, how the wood mates to the reciever on fixed. The folders swing and lock in which can (add a) lean for different reasons than the fixed. They are solid but (some) trades off come with (the) design.

I think its safe to say no rifle is perfect. (I have seen) Rem 700 free floating barrels not centered within the stocks (Factory QC issue). Shotgun barrels bored off center (still within tolerence.)

Look at a M14 and ask yourself if each side of (wood)stock is even in material / measurement from centered barrel. (I have also seen examples of where it is not)

I think the T81 is (the) same or better than the norincos.

Advice.. Buy it, shoot it, enjoy it, dont shoot corrosive.

I’m curious as to why you’d say don’t shoot corrosive? I’ve got a pristine CSA58 that’s shot nothing but corrosive. I clean with hot water and soap, then dry, then lubricate.

Is the T81 more succeptable to corrosion or can I proceed as normal? so long as a therough cleaning after a range trip is done.

Just a PIA. I will spend the extra money so not to worry about it.

When I first got into shooting, rifles were not always cleaned. Now shooting is more of a planned event.
(and ... still I dont have time to field strip a rifle
each time I shoot.)

God I miss the old days lol. Days before C17/ C68 (My AK was a bush gun.)

Who the hell is this guy? lol
Your posts are outlandish, grammatically confusing, entertaining and perplexing all in one.

Why would you not shoot corrosive through this rifle? I've put 800 rounds of PRC corrosive through it. It loves the stuff. It takes 5 minutes to strip it, pour Eds red all over it and wipe it off then put it back together.

No disrespect intended Sir, post on!

You shouldn't shoot corrosive ammo. The juice will leak out of the bullets and melt your hand! 2019-02-08 07.28.44.png

Google corrosive. Review some EE sales decounted rifles due to corrosive. Note I said my advice.

Anyhow, whats confusing in whats wrote. All is true.

I guess I could find some better words to describe. I tend to write write how I text . Anyway maybe someone can take picture of the side folding stock just short of it locking in (the open position.)

This curve everyone is concerned about is a no issue.

No worries brother, i can understand what your writing.

Give him a break guys! English may not be his first language (my apologies if it is, as I’m not trying to be facetious)

As an owner of a curved T81 I’m inclined to agree that’s it’s not a big issue and is likely within spec., so much so that I’ve ordered a folder. Albeit, I hope this one is straight-ish.

These are going to be rare guns soon. I don’t see this rifle in production for much longer.
