Just noticed that the Milsurp forum is chock full of Type 81's...disproportionately so.
Someone start a rumour and now folks are dumping them?

Begging pardon...lets dial it back.
Mod's beg pardon on any ruckus; erase it if it's not cool

By chance are they mostly the new LMG style that sold out in less than a day, and by chance are they mostly listed at prices higher than the $1500 they cost initially? There was a lot of that sort of thing going on when they first hit the market (saw one for $2700 two days after they sold out)...

Alternatively, could be people unloading normal T81s after buying the LMG version?

People are trying to sell them for a huge profit. A couple of numptys listed their type 81s for a ridiculously high price. Many people followed suit thinking that is what they are worth now. If you notice the majority of people are not willing to pay $1800 for a used rifle that was $1000 new. Sadly some people are paying these prices and encouraging bad behavior. Then the LMG came out and people figured they could easily turn a huge profit again.

I don't have a problem with people asking high amounts I am upset with the people paying that high amount.

I am disappointed with the people who bought them with no intention of using them. Buying it an realizing its not your thing is one thing, but to buy it with the sole intent of flipping is just greedy.

All guns are on the list. ALL of them. Anything semi automatic is just the first in line.

But yeah, people are trying to turn a profit, that’s why they are for sale. Some people will buy five, keep one and try to profit on the rest.

The T81 is just an FRT 'update' away, like all other firearms, from being deemed 'prohibited' by the SFSS...

And the ever greening promise, well...

I agree 100% buying with ZERO intention of using is a disgrace

They are already deep in that current OIC and FRT bans nonsense.. adding more to the list is not going to bring them any extra political points at this time. Handguns are in the crosshairs because of gang shootings, that's what their minions including those 'doctors' are focusing their propaganda effort on and that's what can cater well to the urban lefties. So semis will probably be left alone for a few years until the feel they can earn more points by expanding the list.. Plus, the outcome of the lawsuits is not necessarily going to be against us.

Yes, the someone is you

Duly noted and yes it could be viewed that way.
Want the mods to 'Disappear it'...I'm good with it. Not in a 'Under the Bridge' mood today...beg pardon.
Just found it curious. Type 81 and CZ type profiles really aren't my style...so I'm not looking to effect the market. 'Not my style' doesn't make me a Bubba ( got a few milsurps myself...), just have never found 'Banana Magazines' to be appealing next to a slightly tapered or straight magazine. An M4, M14 or AG42 come to mind as pleasing to my eye...still no idea what to think of the Johnson rifle...
Maybe shooting them as opposed to just handling them would change my mind...like a Harley Davidson. But I've shot SKS's with the 5/30 magazines...naw, just feels like a three legged chair with a 2 x 4 tacked on to fix it. Sort of an obvious extension...feels cobbled on.
But enjoy them as much as you can...your right.
Just seemed disproportionate today for some reason.

Just seemed disproportionate today for some reason.

The reason for T81 price gouging is that they are the only real military pattern semi-rifle left NR. Another one is G36 but they are 7K.

I was laughing my ass off when T81s were 1K compared to 1.2K CSA Vz58s. If Vz58 was a Harley, t81 is a moped.

It shoots fine, not very accurate, about 6MOA. Sights suck, QC is subpar. "Normal" bending of stamped receivers, which is just a sign of bad manufacturing process to me.

In normal country like Soviet Union bad AK stamping caused them to return to milled AK production until improvements in AKM model was introduced.

All that said, if people are buying them at 2.1K that's the current market price.

people buy and sell at a certain price is called free market.

what ever the reason why people flip them or buy them is none of our business if you are not involved then why do you care? no different than people flipping real estates, teslas or buying pfiser stock after announcing a vaccine.

how can you blame the people who saw an opportunity when the dealer said "With production of standard Type 81 coming to an end, factory was able to offer a final run of LMG style versions." production... end... final... = higher prices.

do you think it would have sold out in 12 hours if the dealer said, first in a multi production runs?

I would not pay 500$ for the junk. if I am going to spend that kind of money I will buy a real gun that I can use and shoots straight.

Nothing wrong with the way mine shoots. Windage was dead on out of the box just a few inches low which was rectified by using the 3 elevation setting. Getting 3 inch groups at 100 yards which is better than I expected.

I laugh harder at the stupid people who pay double the retail and 4x the actual value for these chinese junk, and probably with money they don't actually have.
