The Chinese military did develop an optic for the T81, which just clamped onto the receiver. Don't know where you would be able to find one thou. If you google type 81 scope, some airsoft sites do sell it, but don't think it is genue Chinese suplus. Any one with any experiences?

I'd determine what type of wood is used for the furniture first and go buy some. There will be a trial and error process trying to get the stains tinted/mixed to the correct color and you probably don't want to be sanding down your furniture 5-6 times during this process. If you're looking to match the rifle original dark colors I doubt an off the shelf tint is going to work very well, buy some browns, reds, and blacks and start mixing and experimenting.
A blend of Soya sauce and red wine works well.
I'm 99.9% certain it is typical "Chu" wood furniture; which I have refinished many times. I have done a number of AK/SKS/CZ/VZ "Soviet Red AK" finishes with the aforementioned products, looks amazing, if you appreciate that style.
I look forward to posting a series of YouTube videos detailing the process.
I look forward to seeing the finished product.
