Type 81 Owners Corner !

Well one of you guys should have a rifle left over for ya i refused mine today getting the mx10 instead. Wish I could of opened the package to see the condition of it didn't wana screw up my refund tho.

I had some questions I was hoping someone could help me with;

My rifle does not hold the bolt open on an empty mag. I tried it with 3 mags. Is it supposed to and if so should I send it back for repair?

If the rifle looks straight should I assume it's ok or is there a way to check?

What are the items in the box? One looks likes a cleaning rod in a 22 magazine and the other I assume is a sight tool?

Did I read somewhere that TI would supply matching wood covers for the folder and if so how do I get these?

Bolt hold open - magazine issues.

If you have no tools, anything with visible laser beam might work to check the straightness. There is one rifle with canted front sights.

Rifle has cleaning kit in the stock and plastic Oiler.

Put the front of the mag in first. Then rock it back.
Matching cheek rest will come next year according to TI.

Anyone have issue with a really loose receiver top cover? Mine rattles like pebbles in a can when i move the gun.

The one on my folder rattles lots. Not sure why it rattles? It's on properly and everything
Not a big deal though as it doesn't affect the function of the gun
It's almost like the hole at the back for the takedown button is too big

Mine don't rattle... It's a bit tricky, I'd say you both don't have it seated and locked in properly

Mail Lady came by today.... It was a Type 81 kind of day... Everything is in spec as I expected it would be... I also received my pre-order bonus mag and sling

If bolt does not stay open on empty mag, the mag is defective. One of my mags was like that and I sent it back for replacement.

Thanks for the replies. I checked the mags and then the rifle. The little tab that holds the bolt open won't go up. Apart from that the magazines themselves are roughly finished and one of the followers jams.

It's unfortunate after I waited so long but I'm returning the rifle. Too many issues right off the bat, I have lost faith in it. If you have one that is good it's a nice addition to the collection but I'm not willing to pay top dollar for a defective product.

If you are on the fence I would rather get a CZ858. If you want a T81 I recommend getting one from a store where you can check it before you buy it.

Interesting enough i just checked my cz858 and vz58, both of them slightly canted sights, and slight bend in stock, im guessing these are common issues for these sort of rifles? i mean aslong as its shooting where i'm pointing i really dont care i guess.

Please click link and watch this video from the Military Arms Channel.... They discuss the Norinco Ak's that were imported to the USA in the early 80's and how people thought they were crude and worthless, they even mention how people would run wall lazers lights down the rifle saying they were bent.... these same rifles now are called Norinco Legends and sell for upwards to $3,000.00 USD... Watch the video and feel good about the Type 81:

Got my type 81 today- 06DEC2017
Ordered 19NOV2017
I know, I know lucky bastard, I am

Here is the photo of my Type 81 in comparison to RK74 from G+G, 6mm airsoft rifle:

Now the question: Is rear stock bent to the right for "right shooters" :)
Yes, there is some noticeable bent to the wooden part, didn't notice any bents to the core of the rifle

Now the bolt and carrier-didn't notice big problems there:
BTW don't understand ppl who struggle with assembly/ disassembly

Now, my original question was: whether type 81 mags fit SKS-KD.. and yes they do.. hopefully they will also feed well-this remains to be elucidated

I may speculate that type81 mags will fit SKS-D and Norinco305a as well as AK-47 if you have one.
How will it feed in those-don't know yet.
Actually, I bought one type81 mag back in August for my experiments, only in November 2017 I bought type81 rifle itself

Now does it worth 1000CaD, God no... max is 600 for the look, no more than that
Will I buy one if there were AKs available, absolutely not, compared to AK-this is a piece of junk, but again.. you may indefinitely ban AKs, Russian Olympic players etc etc
but
most AK-variants will never compare to real AK, as well as some "women" will never look like women and of course this is because American doping is just a doctor prescribed therapy and Russian doping is an evil weapon of Mr Putin:

People need to complain about things, I decided to shoot mine and have fun instead of trying to find faults on this cheap Chinese made rifle.
