Type-81 pictures, range reports, and modifications thread

^ sorry guys was busy at work. I did pretty much the same but I just made a part that goes inside form wood. Drilled the hole and used Home Depot bolt and nut to tighten it. Ideally I want to make an aluminum piece eventually. But this one works good enough.

This is the product description.

The title says it all. This adapter allows you to use AR buffer tube stock adapters and folding stocks originally designed for the VZ58 with no permanent modifications to your firearm. The adapter is 3D printed in durable and impact absorbing filaments and your stock of choice is held in place firmly with a secure bolt and nut. The piece is then pinned in place through the original buttstock pin holes on the side using 4 small set screws.

Can you PM me a link?? Thanks!

Thank you! The Foxstrap people were even kind enough to include a Thingverse link to the 3D printer plans for their adapter at the bottom of their product page!

Man these LMG's look too much better without the carry handle and bipod.

Short mag, SVD stock and a PSO and someone may have a cool looking project ;)

Red dot is the Holosun 510c mounted on the picatinny optic mount from tactical imports. The front quad rail is from a Yugo M70 and modded to fit (gunnutzguy youtube) with Magpul AK grip and Magpul fore grip. With a knock-off sure fire light ( that actually works pretty good) temporarily until I get something legit. Painted rear folding stock. Top one is all stock (staying that way) in the new gorgeous cherry red finish.

From the YouTube channel Another Incarnation, a conversion of a Type 81 LMG to 6.5 Grendel DMR rifle. This was done using a donor barrel from a Ruger rifle and some kind of fiberglass shell for the stock. I think they are using a TI No-Drill Picatinny rail mount, but I'm not sure. Turn on auto-translation for translating the subtitles to English.

I didn't go through the entire video, but an interesting project, kudos on the work involved. The Grendel round should give a lot better performance at range then 7.62x39 mm. Anyone build an MCR or WK in Grendel yet? I remember RWA did a long barreled RWA180B build for a customer a while back.

Below is someone shooting a Type 81 Folder at a range in Cambodia. I wonder if TI could get in the lower hand guard with the integrated foregrip?

Definitely a worth while project if a significant increase in accuracy was obtained.

Let me make a few phone calls but I doubt that Cambodia is making anything. If TI can't bring it then it's worst on the Cambodia's side.
