what do you mean vertical or horizontal not lining up?
 
Here's a pic. It's not lining up vertically so I can't even get the screw started. I already let Gyro know, just wondering if anyone else had this issue. It's possible that I rec'd a Friday rifle.

Had this problem, it resolved itself. put the top on and then see if you can LIGHTLY bang it into position. make sure both sides of the handguard is seated in all the way as well.

Same, had to tap it a bit with a plastic mallet and everything aligned.
 
I'm thinking of getting a low height red dot, the like of Aimpoint T2.. or maybe even a pistol-size one. Really want it to cowitness.

bushnell trs-25 is slightly low than T2.

this might work cos you can see thru the mount. cheaper alternative is a used trs-25.
 
Has anyone removed their BHO and had the front trunnion area of the magwell milled down to accept AK mags without molesting them?
sitting here with a few different countries mags seems only about 4-5mm H x 10mm(image should say 10) L of steel has to be removed from each side of the trunnion and by the looks of things AK mags *should* fit without issue, it doesnt seem the normal 81 mags rely too much on this area for structural support.
if im horribly wrong and this would brick my rifle, crush my dreams sooner then later lol.

Would be nice to use ak mags, but it is what it is. Hope it works out for you.
 
Marstar sells KCI ak47 mags in 10,20,30, 40 also yugo and they use to charge $10 to mod the mag to fit T81.

at $10 per mag it wasnt even worth to bring out the hand grinder. lol.
