Type-81 pictures, range reports, and modifications thread

I was impressed by how quick this setup was able to connect at 500 yards. The first time i tried it only took 2 shots. Watched where the 1st shot splashed, adjusted my hold in relation to the SVD optics chevrons, and got a ding on the second shot. I find the Russian reticles to always be super intuitive.

Something im positive most modern .223s could do better, but it is satisfying to see the classy old cold war tech get the job done aswell.

I don't know a lot about Russian optics but was that the fixed 4x optic that came with the SR or was that something different?

I was thinking of selling the optic that came with my SR but I may keep it. Probably not many of them circulating anymore.

The current state of the butchered SR

That looks pretty ###y. Do any Sigmaco handguards fit on this one? They say you have to modify the "ferrule" but i'm not sure what a ferrule is.

IDK but… that’s a bit overkill for 7.62x39 out of 18” barrel. Maybe a 11” that would be appropriate. Right now you’re just making noise.

I suspect this has less to do with function then Admin Results vaunted "aesthetics"; the muzzle device comes in the gun-metal grey the firearm owner was seeking; I suspect the Sigmaco Canada muzzle device adapter sleeve will be re-finished to match as soon as the owner is able. The firearm would well match our downtown Edmonton public library for a photo shoot; pity the firearm owner would be shot by cops from the nearbye station if they made a photo shoot attempt :p
