Type 81 review

I'm still debating whether or not I want to grab one of these from the Batch 3 shipment. I already own an SKS that essential serves this purpose, without detachable mags.

I really like the Type 81's manual of arms (apart from the charging handle being on the wrong side for me), but the SKS is a great rifle. I'm just not a fan of traditional stocks on tactical semi-auto rifles, and the aftermarket ones I've seen (e.g. Tapco) weren't to my liking. If you love your SKS, I'd say there's no need to get a Type 81.

For the guys that have the fixed and folding version which do you prefer and how is the sight alingment with the folding stock? Cheers!

Only have the fixed, but with irons you really need to hunch down and get your face really close to the receiver to use. Would imagine fixed is better for optics, folding for iron sights

I like the look of the fixed. I like the functionality of the very-well-designed folder (even though I think it's kinda ugly...). Sight alignment's fine with either, for me, at least.
