Type 97 at lever arms

$1450 with all the taxes breaks just over $1650. I looked at one today and they are good rifles in the $1000 range IMHO

The two mags that come wiith the rifle will not fit standard AR15s (although AR15 mags will fit into the type 97) and the rail on the rifle is dedicated to the PRC Norinco optics whish was definately not worth $350. Iron sights are good for this particular rifle and Im sure that someone will adapt a standard rail to it.

Nice rifle (even if its restricted) and great to see them available in Canada!

Its on my to-do list ;)
 
If it was a grand I'd buy one for sure. At 1450, there are too many nice Sig pistols to buy.

I had an idea last night about modifiing a Sniper Type 97 if they show up here and are cheap enough. Have it rechambered, and add an accurate bull barrel for the .204 round :). Seems to me that would be one hell of a combination. Around 4000 fps depending on the barrel length, less recoil than the .223 and extra varmint splatter power all in a bull pup. I had trouble sleeping after thinking about this possibility.
Maybe some day.
