Type 97 Classification Issues - PART TWO

legal action will likely take months to years! Political action is likely to get it dealt with sooner. Much sooner

In BC, a petition for review of administrative action under the Judicial Review Procedure Act can get before the court in a few weeks or even days. Canam's judicial review would probably be filed in Federal Court, but no reason to think it need take longer.

Political action quicker? Yeah. How's that working for you so far, guys?

Not to upset the applecart here, but I was at chilliwack dart and tackle making a purchase this morning, and Gary there mentioned that he had worked out an arrangement with cfc (says he knows people there) to sell his type 97 stock as "grandfathered" prohibs or restricted, either way, he says he can transfer them.:nest:

Perhaps Gary should stick to the Darts part of the business.

Because with all due respect, it sounds like he doesn't know squat about the
T97. There are so many things wrong with what he told you that I don't have the energy to re-hash them all.....

Well I had enough I am out I set a deadline and it has passed and now its time to move on ,To all those that continue to wait I wish you Good Luck

i take it from these 45 pages, i should NOT order one?

Yes you should, customs has released them under a special non restricted designation. Norinco has also offered a special $200 mail in manufacturer's rebate to make up for all the confusion.

I pulled out about a week and a half ago. It was pretty hard to do, and I wish CanAm the best, but I couldn't wait forever.

If sometime down the road all this gets cleared up and they're released non-restricted, then I'd re-order for sure. But until then....

X2, I hated doing it, but he has lots of other stuff that I'm very interested in. I hope things do work out for Canam with this rifle.

The moment I saw this rifle on canam I wanted one, but I took one look and said "no way thats gonna stay non-restricted". Same thing goes for the m4 .22 look-alike. Too scary= restricted or prohib. The trick is to buy them plain, and make them scary. Nowhere on your regi does it say: scary, black weapon of mass destruction.
