Many of the problem Gen 4s go bad around 5000 rounds, so it's entirely possible you would not know about reliability issues within the first couple of hundred, or even couple of thousand, rounds.
I know how Gen 3s perform up to 25,000 rounds or so. They are a known quantity in the extreme.
The Gen 4 is simply not a known quantity at this point in the same way. They have replaced some parts with MIM; it's also possible that the long term durability HAS been impacted.
So hearing from people with a few hundred "flawless" rounds is fairly useless - particularly when there are known issues on higher round count Gen 4s. Issues sufficiently problematic that Glock has been forced to replace the RSA and retool the extractor and ejector to try to make it run properly. And that is not even addressing the slide geometry concerns.
