Berettas and Sigs are out due to the aluminum frame. I just don't trust it for holding up to thousands of rounds....or beating them if you run out of ammo.

XD pistols I don't think you can rack without holding down the grip safety so one hand operation is tough. Out.

CZ is nice for the double/single action. Glock, M&P would work. Never shot an H&K so I wouldn't pick it.

I would pick the 1911 in .45 ACP. Balance, grip, natural point of aim (for me) and a big fat 'slow' moving bullet. Just like getting hit by a big truck.

What you really want to think about is suppressing the smell of your brain. Zombies LOVE eating brains and if they can't find you, you don't really have to worry about anything else.

The nicest gun to me is the Beretta 92FS which I do own and just love to death as well. Its been a fabulous gun to me and totally reliable as well for anything I have ever done with it as well. I have a 45ACP also but its not quite the same on full load and reliability altho very good of course in the stopping power. The 92 can do its share I have read as well if needed in the damage dept also. Don't think I am going to meet very many Zombies in my backyard.
