Ultra lightweight hunting ?

They come a lot, lot lighter than that and having owned exactly that gun, they really are pussy cats in recoil. Any of the non magnums are, even the 5lb guns. It's a misconception about them kicking fiercely. I read that often and every time I shoot the 4lb 13oz Kimber and it feels... well like a .308 I wonder where this stuff starts.

I shot a T/C encore with a 15" 308 barrel and don't feel any increase in recoil over a 22" barrel maybe a little louder but Evan that I think it's more perception with such a short light rifle

Any place on Vancouver island or Vancouver for getting a titanium cooking pot ?

Bin Looking at clothing I'm finding confusing what can I get locally in BC that works for ultralight hunting
So far Boots wear easy it the other stuff I am having trouble figuring out
I'm a westcoast Texido kind of guy this ultralight hunting gear Is cool but will it hold up wen thing get ugly

I am the same re: tuxedos. That top but how about the bottoms? My best is german army surplus with 10-15% wool blend over cotton long johns.

I think that an island tuxedo with true water proof overs (no goretex) is unbeatable in my experience. Army surplus rain gear and a westcoast tuxedo. Won't leave for the bush without them.

I think they have 2 locations in Vancouver.

I do not have experience in hunting elk in the foothills or altitude but I do know that where there are elk there are usually grizzly bears (at least in Alberta). I would choose something in .30 calibre or larger just for that reason. Recoil is more of a hinderance when target shooting than when you are hunting. Tikka T3 lite in .308 or greater. Light weight, affordable, very accurate right out of the box.

I made a deal for Kimber adirondack in 308
I just keep coming back over over looking at the Kimber

Hoping sum ove you guys with Kimber Adirodack can let me know what factory ammo you are using
Plus what is working for your hand lodes

Hoping when its all said and dun I will be under 25 lbs full pack and rifle ready to go minus food
My old pack ,camp gear plus rifle was just over 60 lbs full pack not including food
I was Limited to about 5 to 15 lbs of food and had a extremely heavy kit

I bought a set heavy plastic eating ware at CT. 4 bowls, 4 plates, 4 glasses, 4 sets of cutlery for $19.99. Combined the fork and spoon weigh less than a titanium spork and if I lose them who cares, I have 3 more.

A 300 gram (weight of contents) coffee tin holds 1.3 litres of water and with a wire handle weighs less than a 1.3 litre titanium pot, and my wallet is over $100 heavier.

A two cup tin mug weights 6 grams more than a titanium mug of the same size and is 1/10th the cost.

IMO, a 2lb coffee tin made into a Billy Can can never be replaced by something from a store, nor should it.

I think you'll like. I'm a huge fan of mine. It feels like a toy but it shoulders nicely and is a treat to shoot offhand. If I was you I'd get some talley one piece lightweight rings and a leupold scope. I have a vx3 2.5-8x36 on mine. If you're looking at saving a couple of ounces the vx2 2-7x33 is a good choice. Good luck!
