Well Boys, I hit the freakin' jack pot.
I knew my penny pinching and particular good taste in collecting rifles would result in me getting a prime collectors piece
The rifle is a rare and seldom heard of model.
It was developed in 1967 as the Centenial Deer slayer and it was used by crack Ottawa Valley troops in the defense of their land in the cold war. Somewhat similar to the EAL, but MUCH nicer
And no, it is not for sale.
Here are some of the distinquishing features....
Typical Monti-Carlo style butt stock with recoil pad:
Now of course my rifle is missing the 50 cent piece that was craftfully inlaid in the butt stock. I figure the solidier who had this musta had to by some smokes...hence he took out the coin. s**t that what the coin is their for so I don't think it effects the value.
Now of course, you need to have a 1967 Quarter right near the breach. Comes in handy for picking your teeth..
Now it would not be a complete rare rifle if it did not have the "emergency call home dime"
I don't have a picture of the nickle folks, but you'll have to trust me that it is in the base of the grip for the stock...
Whoops, I do have a photo...
And yes it all does make sense..the cent is at the end of the forestock nead the sling swivel..
And you can see, I have the sniper model that has the charger guide removed and drilled/tap for scope mount.
Unfortunatley I don't have the Kmart scope that was issued with this baby...
Now to make it a real collecters piece you can see the serial number on the barrel, receiver and bolt all match and this fine gun started out as a crappy no1 Mk111
