Umingmak(muskox) hunting ...

Umingmak is very lean ... it's not strong tasting at all ... similiar texture to roast beef ... can't really compare it ... :D Man o'man my face and lips are done ... :( HAHA.

YAHOOOOOOO ... our local HTO(hunters/trappers org) was just given 20 more tags and it's open so I don't have to go thru a lottery draw again for a tag ... Heading outland next week and try my luck again and bag a Umingmak ... FN AWESOME! :D

There are still a lot of guys hunting muskox out of Rankin then? I know a fellow in Baker Lake, I think they were also allocated around 20 tags, and he's pretty much the only one that still hunts them. He has to travel about 80 miles to get to where the muskox were though. Just curious.
