Unauthorized tree stand and cameras

Seems like a good situation to apply "possession is 9/10th of the law"...

But whoever left it there knows where they left it. If it goes missing they might retaliate with vandalism or theft...

If you pull the card on their camera does it include pictures of them setting up?

is it a unit that sends the images to a phone in real time?
If it is I would write your phone number on a piece of paper and hold it up to the camera so the receiver knows who to call. I would not be wanting my face in pictures on such a camera so approach it accordingly unless it's already got a pic of you checkin it out.
Take the stuff to your garage, then pick up the phone and call your provinces wildlife ministry and discuss your options with a conservation officer.

I'd take it down and put it in a pile where the tree strand was with a note saying this is your private property.

I'd add the non-emergency # for your local RCMP if they have any problems with this...

I did pull the card and the guy is on it. I have no idea who he is.

depends on your morality:

1) Leave a card with your number saying to call or it will be removed
2) Take it and become the owner
3) Cut the tree down and break his stuff

If I find a tree stand and camera put up on my property without permission, is it mine?
At the very least they trespassed to install them with Sask's current laws regarding same. As mentioned earlier I would be more worried about them retaliating in some untoward way, as they were willing to trespass already... The idea of a phone number to collect is worth considering.

Don't take it down until the day before the season opens. My brother and I took a chainsaw to a tree with a stand in it the day before the season opened on his farm. Never saw or heard from whoever owned it. No excuse for trespassing...

I pulled and kept a dozen Conibear 330's when I found them set on my property, but I had denied the clown trapping access the year before... he decided not to ask the next year. I was pissed because I was using the beavers for habitat creation up that valley, all the knocked down trees create habitat for grouse and moose and other critters.

so what does the Sask wildlife act and hunting regulations say about tresspass and unauthorized tree stands?
There must be regulation on this in your province's land use and hunting laws

I guess my question would be, can a hunter be fined and or lose thier hunting credentials for unauthorized tresspass and the erecting of a treestand in Saskatchewan. This is beyond simple tresspass, it has been done for the purpose of hunting and a structure has been erected as well as a surveillance device.
