Under new rules what happens when I die?

Inherit. No
If he has a Rpal, transfer them to him while you still can.
Once the freeze on transfers starts, you are stuck with them and possession ends with you.

If you are a senior this is good advice.

Remember the Prohibited class of firearms?

This could be just as bad or worse if it gets through.

I will also expect that a lot of stuff will just disappear too when the time comes.

Never underestimate the resourcefulness of people that are being unfairly marginalized.

Take the guns out of your will if you cant transfer them before the unknown deadline..have a private conversation with your son about what to do with them ASAP after you pass..don't let anyone else know the plans..just the 2 of you.

Remember the executor is only responsible for what they know about and have access ..deadmen dont talk and cant be charged.

This is worse. At least you could sell your prohibiteds to someone else with a prohibited license. Under the proposed regulation your executor would be compelled to turn your firearms over to the police for a trip to the smelter.

The police will kick your door down while your family is at your funeral, shoot your dog, ransack your home, beat your neighbours and shoot their cat, give each other a high five and move on to the next one. Alternately, your executor will receive a letter from the CFO asking them to turn in the firearms. Depends which reality you're in.

CFO wouldn't know for maybe 5 years... after license lapses unless there is now a centralized death reporting system.

Pretend it's the 90s..don't ask don't tell.

I’ll bet there’s a centralized death reporting system in the planning stages as we speak… Control is getting more rampant with each day it seems.

My daughter is a RPal holder and a Funeral Director and we’ve talked about the exact thing you’ve mentioned and she has a list of my desires, one of which I’ll post here;

I'm sure a few of the really nice ones will be "lost" by the RCMP on the way to that smelter. No investigation of course

No, ALL of the nice ones will be lost on the way to the smelter. ALL of the nice ones. And a thorough investigation of the RCMP by the RCMP will follow but no one will be charged - in each and every case of lost handguns by the RCMP.

Move on. Nothing to see here. For police eyes only. Not for "civilians".

The business end of it needs more explanation.

My clever plan, assuming I die slowly is have the guns made worthless say by welding the barrel with maybe a bolt and making the cylinder inoperable. Basically make the guns worthless so officer friendly cannot steal my nice guns. This is my worst fear. The guns are turned over to the police and than some gun loving police steals the guns.

I believed you need to dewat them by specific standards set out to deactivate and may not be able to do yourself. I don’t have a link on this but plenty of info on Google.
